Houston Texans head coach and general manager Bill O'Brien says he'll take a knee during the national anthem next season with his players to protest racial inequality and police brutality.
"Yeah, I'll take a knee -- I'm all for it," O'Brien told the Houston Chronicle. "The players have a right to protest, a right to be heard and a right to be who they are. They're not taking a knee because they're against our flag. They're taking a knee because they haven't been treated equally in this country for over 400 years."

Keep in mind, this is the SAME group who demand the Confederate flag be removed - based on their perception it is a racist symbol, even as those who fly it claim it has nothing to do with racism.

If they haven’t figured out how to adapt to civilized society in 400 years then taking a knee won’t make any difference.
Why don’t they just come out there with kneeling rugs and bow down to Mecca? Submission had become so much more important than respect.
America becomes truly alienated with a sport that was once considered to be a great unifying factor of American culture.
The NFL has been dead to me for some time. They can’t sink much lower.

The calls are already beginning to replace the flag, with a new “more inclusive” one.
I warned way back when when they gave in on the Confederate Flag, it would eventually come to this. And I’m no fan of the Confederacy.
Won’t change a thing. Most white conservatives will return to the NFL, just like they did last season, because they would rather give up their principals instead of doing without.
Colin Kaepernick said he took a knee because he was specifically protesting the flag and this country.
My question to all of these people would be, if you are not protesting against the flag then why do you insist on doing the protest during the presentation of the flag and the National Anthem being played? Why not do a demonstration on your own time away from the football field?
Well the NFL season is over for me, even before it started!
Pro sports teams are going to stop playing the national anthem. Maybe after the first game where everybody kneels.
They are jocks and coaches making a nice living doing something they enjoy. If they feel so guilty - why don’t they put their money where their mouth is and donate to some charity and shut up about it? Jeez.
Yeah, Stupid, and potential viewers have a right not to tune in to such hatred and disrespect for our country. Have a right not to buy tickets and have this idiocy forced down their throats for the inflated price of their tickets. And BTW—is the U.S. 400 years old? You’re as ignorant of U.S. history as you are devoid of respect for the country that gave you and the overpaid beef cattle you coach a chance to become millionaires.
