There are blacks that have assimilated and are looking for the same “American Dream” everyone else wants - but they are just a small fraction of the total. As for “inner city”, my state of NJ has spent years now re-locating the welfarian population to suburbs because the bankrupt cities can’t provide free sh!t any more; like the Quartering Act of colonial times, they are just pushing the costs associated with them onto the homeowning taxpayers of those suburbs.
The inner cities didn’t collapse until their manufacturing did; that destroyed much of the evolving black middle class. Many blacks came north to work in cities, and when the work disappeared we see the result.
In the NYC metro area, it wouldn’t even make a difference; our urban police “stood down” years ago. That is why situations like Minneapolis rarely happen here, despite the violence in NYC and north Jersey cities. The urban cops here are well-paid spectators.
