Tulsa police have released body camera footage from two officers who arrested a black teenager and handcuffed a second for jaywalking last week.
The videos were released in response to social media messages from the community about the arrest, police said. The videos appear to have been blurred and redacted by police to conceal the teenagers' identities.
Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum said in a statement Wednesday that the incident is under investigation.
"I want every kid in Tulsa to feel safe to walk down the street in their neighborhood. No Tulsa kid should have to fear being tackled and cuffed for walking down the street. I viewed that footage last night more as a parent than a mayor," he said.

The teenagers can both be heard repeatedly asking the officers why they are being detained and handcuffed and the teenager being held accuses the officers of targeting him be because he is black, saying "you want to see me in jail or dead."
One of the arresting officers responds by telling the teens they were breaking the law by jaywalking.
As the officers then unsuccessfully try to place the struggling teenager in the front seat of their squad car, the teen yells, "Call my momma!," threatening to beat the officer holding him if he gets out of his handcuffs.
The second teenager can be heard repeatedly telling his companion, "Chill out, bro. It's not worth it."

Smart kid.
CNN is ATT
I seem to remember a similar story that was published years ago. Is this recycled news?
The footage was released as a Tulsa Police major faces sharp criticism from city officials for denying the existence of systemic racism and saying that police shoot African Americans "less than we probably ought to be based on the crimes."
Wonder how much of the video has been edited.
Call my momma!,
Ask your Daddy what you should do.
If this is true, then it’s another example of having too many cops on the street with nothing else to do.
My small city has an overabundance of cops.
CNN trying to stir up Tulsa riots in advance of Trump’s rally. So predictable.
They must take jaywalking very serious in Tulsa.
"First, obey the law. Laws are made for a reason; Think of them as hints. Youve heard people say, Man, I wouldnt do that sh... if I was you.....Well here is some of that s...: Car Jacking, Armed Robbery, Arson, Selling Drugs, Buying Drugs, Stabbing, Shooting.
Left out the money quote:
“In the videos of the June 4 incident, the two teenagers can be seen walking down the middle of a road together before they are approached by an officer on foot and a second in a squad car.”
Walking down the middle of the road is not jaywalking....its a clear and present danger to both themselves and motorists.
“Walking down the middle of the road is not jaywalking....”
The police officer called it “jaywalking.”
Hmmmmm..isn’t that where the rally is supposed to be held? If so, there you go!! God, it’s so obvious!!
I dont care what the officer called it.
First of all, were these kids just jaywalking?
With that aside, who the hell arrests people for jaywalking? Not racist. Just dumb.
BS. Theres more to this story than CNN is revealing.
Ya’ think? lol
Walking down the middle of the road is something that triggers a cop to pull you over especially in certain high crime areas. Not sure why but it does. This is what Mike Brown and his skinny dumb friend were initially stopped for; walking down the middle of a busy road. Then once the cop stopped them the call about the strong armed robbery come across the radio describing both perps.
Ive been a cop, and so Im painfully aware of the chip-on-shoulder mentality of ghetto blacks - it is almost universal. They block roads incessantly, and move only reluctantly for traffic.
And not just ghetto bangers. The other day, I was driving through a neighborhood near me and a group of middle-class-looking black folks were admiring what looked like a new trike cycle one of them just bought, parked at a curb. They were standing in the middle of the road, and saw me, and started walking toward the side of the road. Then they stopped and started talking again, obstructing my passage. I honked and they looked at me with a look of incredulity. I have NO sympathy for those types.
Its weird that the fact they were walking down the middle of the street was left out of the excerpt. Thats an important factor in this arrest. One of the kids was mouthing off to the cop so maybe he also wasnt listening to his orders to get out of the street. Bad idea to disobey a cop.
