The Japanese tried to brush out their “accomplishments” during WWII. It has been a failure and they are still socially and internationally paying the cost of that decision.
Never airbrush your history.
I use to lament that the Russians allowed the hammer and sickle to be displayed for their Victory marches. Now I understand why, and have no problem with it now. Your history is your history, the good and the bad.
