NASCAR was on life support with me over the last few years. Now, I’ve pulled the plug!
That’s one photo— there are others that mix the two. The 20’s klan created all the problems thenceforth. They are nothing— literally nothing anymore, and a good thing at that.
My sister and BIL, were heavy into NASCAR. They just gave it up.
I just watched one of their virtual races but I won’t watch anymore!!!

My sister and BIL don’t necessarily have some affinity toward the confederate flag. To them, it’s the principle behind it. They just don’t like other people telling them what they will or will not like.

A question to ask oneself is if it is wise to grow (trying to cast a huge net) to a point to where you have to make accommodations and compromises that conflict with ones identity as an institution. When you go down that road, pretty soon you find yourself in a position where you’re unsure about what to do when your athletes take a knee at the anthem and are in gross violation of their contract...
That is coming. Just keep buying the season tickets.
I wonder if anyone would even know if you showed up with a confederate national flag?
Most folks don’t know that they are even angry at a flag that used more on The Dukes of Hazard than on Confederate buildings.
If they thought that it would hurt them in the long run, they would not have banned it. They know that the public at large has a short memory. The fans may pout for a race or two, but they will be back. They can piss on the fans as much and many times as they please. And the fans will say”Please masa may I have another one?” The NFL weathered the fan’s protest over not standing for the Anthem. And We [NASCAR] will weather the fans protest over banning the Confederate Flag. That is NASCAR’s Corporate line of thought. Are they right or wrong. That question will be answered over time.
Are BLM flags allowed??
