Al Sharpton to the NFL: 'Give Colin Kaepernick a job back'

Al Sharpton delivered the eulogy at George Floyd's funeral in Houston on Tuesday, and during it asked the NFL to "give Colin Kaepernick a job back."

“The head of the NFL said, ‘Yeah, maybe we was wrong. Football players, maybe they did have the right to peacefully protest,'” he said. “Well, don’t apologize. Give Colin Kaepernick a job back. Don’t come with some empty apology. Take a man’s livelihood. Strip a man down of his talents. And four years later, when the whole world is marching, all of a sudden you go and do a FaceTime, talk about you sorry. Minimizing the value of our lives."

“You sorry? Then repay the damage you did to the career you stood down, ’cause when Colin took a knee, he took it for the families in this building,” Sharpton added. “And we don’t want an apology. We want him repaired.”

I don’t think that’s Tawana, maybe it’s her mom.

Last I heard she was an elder care nurse in Virginia, with a new name as you mentioned.

The ahem, Reverend is about four years too late. And the NFL bent over backwards to give Kaepernick a try-out last fall and he effectively spit in the face of league management and the teams that sent representatives. Kaepernick does not want to play football.

If I remember correctly, Kaepernick changed the tryout venue at the last minute to some high school field miles away. And the scouts that made it said it was a joke. Kaepernick just playing catch with a friend.

Don't know why my previous post got cut off

Why doesn’t Charlatan Sharpton give him a job?

Brother Al is overlooking something. Kappy walked away from a contract and chose free agency. Why should anyone "give" him something he gave up?

Colin Kaepernick opts out of contract, becomes free agent

Anyone supporting the NFL whether through tickets, TV, or paraphernalia needs their head examined. How about some quality time with the family.

Al like the Clintons are Democrats. They don’t pay out money. They take money in. It is a one way street.

Truly - the NFL should turn over ownership to all black men along with black coaches. Teams can be mixed as they see fit.

This is the only way they can assuage themselves of their white guilt.

Imagine if your favorite team played Kap’s team and it was a 3 man rush every play.

It could heal the country.

Where was the Rev when he said that?

Some guy's funeral, I think.

Hope he mentioned the dead guy before he started his tirade. Wouldn't want to dis the family by hijacking the man's big day.

Must have run out of good things to say about Floyd real quick, huh?
