Bon Appetit editor-in-chief Adam Rapoport has resigned his position after several Bon Appetit staff members and freelance contributors publicly called for his resignation on Monday, alleging that a racist culture permeated throughout the brand.
In a post on his personal Instagram account, Rapoport announced his departure:
I am stepping down as editor in chief of Bon Appetit to reflect on the work I need to do as a human being and to allow Bon Appetit to get to a better place. From an extremely ill-conceived Halloween costume 16 years ago to my blind spots as an editor, Ive not championed an inclusive vision. And ultimately, its been at the expense of Bon Appetit and its staff, as well as our readers. They all deserve better. The staff has been working so hard to evolve the brand in a positive, more diverse direction. I will do all I can to support that work, but I am not the one to lead that work. I am deeply sorry for my failings and to the position in which I put the editors of BA. Thank you.

Will this lead to the end of Bacon?
But the governor of Virginia and the PM of Canada get to stay?!
Good lord the sheer simpering going on here is jaw dropping.
How about Im not a racist - get back to work?
Did he imply that filet mignon was better than eating grubs?
He should commit seppuku with a kitana - go for the multi-culti thing.
The Eaters are eating their own.
Interesting how in our “Woke Culture”, 90%+ of those publicly accused, anyway, are dyed in the wool leftists. Both #Metoo and #BLM are nearly always lefties.
As I’ve long believed, the animating factor in folks embracing the completely illogical thought process behind “Woke-ism” is cover for their repulsive actions and impulses.
I canceled my subscription years ago when they ran a chili recipe that included pumpkin.
Gourmet magazine was always better than Bon Appetit Conde Nast can burn.
This is hard to believe. I mean, I do believe it, but this has gotten out of control.
A long time ago, my dad put on blackface and pretended to take his friend’s wife hostage. The wife was in on it.
When his friend came home, my dad had to, very quickly, tell his friend what was going on, because his friend said, I’m going to get my shotgun! LOL!
Ironside would have run him down with the wheelchair for such a travesty.
Yes, the Food Network (and food magazine culture) for instance, is extremely lefty. And the home decor magazines are following suit.
I’m amazed they still have on the Pioneer Woman - no diversity or gay drama!
Somewhere in the deeper reaches of Hell, Stalin, Mao, and Pol Pot are high-fiving: “We won, we won, we won!”
I like the Good Eats shows.
Adored gourmet : (
Reminds me of a song by Queen - “Another One Bites The Dust”. They are falling faster than a line of dominoes.
In the picture he looks like Ali G.
Guess we'll have to cancel Sacha Baron Cohen.
That sure looks a lot like what we’re seeing now. Spot on.
