LinkedIn's CEO has apologized to staff after anonymous employees made "appalling comments" about racism and diversity during a companywide meeting.
"We are not and will not be a company or platform where racism or hateful speech is allowed," Ryan Roslansky wrote in an email to staff that was also posted on LinkedIn. Roslansky took over as CEO of the professional networking company this week.
The company, which is owned by Microsoft Corp., convened a virtual town hall over video Wednesday. Roslansky said more than 9,000 of the company's 16,000 global employees joined to discuss racial bias following the death of George Floyd, a black man, after a white police officer knelt on his neck for several minutes.

One comment read: "Blacks kill blacks at 50 times the rate that whites kill blacks. Usually it is the result of gang violence in the inner city. Where is the outcry?"
Another said: "I believe giving any racial group privilege over others in a zero sum game would not get any support by others. Any thoughts on hurting others while giving privileges with the rosy name called diversity?"

Noting that LinkedIn users are required to use their real identities, he said the company would not allow anonymous comments in future staff meetings. He added that the presenters on the call, including himself, were not able to track the comments in real time. That too, he said, would not happen again.

Awwww. Poor little thing. Truth hurts doesn’t it.
TSE
I deleted my account when MicroThief bought out LinkedIn. It was going downhill anyway, and it’s become the BLEEP since. But I agree, FU LinkedIn.

And these are considered appalling?!

So employees have been warned. We really are in 1984 now.
As Mark Steyn said today, when they say they want a national discussion on race, they really want no discussion on race whatsoever.
Well, obviously, we all have to assume we could lose our jobs and we have to be paranoid. But do you realize that we now could lose our jobs for things we post on FB? That if Free Republic were hacked and comments were traced to us, our employers could fire us. Does that not bother you?
The Black on Black violence in Democrat run shitholes is appalling.
I would do it right now, but I won’t make the extra effort for them. Tomorrow morning will be fine.... they’re gone from my life
Jekyll is looking better all the time. :)
LinkedIn asked for honest opinions and was dismayed to get them
Kamal-toe has put more Black men in Prison than Trump.
Truth is hate to people who hate truth.
Yep. When I’m at work, I just keep my mouth shut about politics, race, and anything where someone might be offended by facts. I don’t do Facebook, Twitter, or any social media except FR. I don’t discuss sex, and I don’t tell any joke that I wouldn’t tell to a child.
In a month or so, I’ll be taking my pension and moving away from here. Come November, I’ll vote the right way.

Same here. I discuss nothing - really, about my life at all - at work. I had some social media -mostly for my parents - but that is falling away quickly as well.
TRANSLATION: Left-wing ideas are so unsustainable that all opposing views must be verboten.
They ae saying there is a right kind of racism and a wrong kind of racism. The kind I like and support is acceptable . If not then it is the wrong kind of racism, the kind that I do not support, well then you are in big trouble and you will be condemned. I will all of the power entrusted to me to make sure that you feel the wokeness in me and my organization that you cannot be part of or associated with.
You can hate white people and or Jews. You can hate conservatives of any gender or race or color. All are fair game.
Would be nice if that were true...
The tyranny we are sliding into deeper and deeper is far worse than anything in "1984"...
If you want to look for a silver lining, then we can proudly say that there are only 980 years left before we get out of the 1000-years of tyranny that Reagan warned us about...
Of course 980-years is optimistic since 99% of American serfdom still has their heads either up their nether regions or buried in the sand...
