George W. Bush Not Voting For Trump In 2020: Report (Surprised?)
Daily Caller ^ | 6/7/2020 | Shelby Talcot

Posted on 06/08/2020 5:40:25 AM PDT by yardboyd

Former Republican President George W. Bush is reportedly not supporting President Donald Trump for reelection in 2020, people familiar with his thinking told the New York Times.

Bush is just one of many well-known Republican politicians who do not plan to vote for Trump, the NYT reported. Bush’s brother, former Republican Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, is reportedly on the fence regarding who he will give his vote to, people familiar with his thinking noted, according to the NYT.

It is not immediately clear why Bush won’t vote for Trump in 2020. The president’s response regarding recent police brutality protests and how he has handled the novel coronavirus pandemic are reportedly reasons why some prominent Republicans won’t be backing Trump.

Other Republicans who reportedly won’t be voting for Trump this year include Utah Sen. Mitt Romney, Arizona Sen. John McCain’s widow Cindy McCain, and former Secretary of State Colin Powell, the NYT reported. Powell has been vocal about not backing the current president, saying on CNN’s “State of the Union” Sunday that he “cannot in any way support President Trump this year.”

It is not known yet if the Republicans opposing Trump plan to vote for the presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden. (RELATED: Bush Office Thanks Trump For Support Amid State Funeral)

Freddy Ford, a spokesman for Bush, said he will not be involving himself in the 2020 election, the NYT reported. Bush only plans to speak on policy issues, such as when he recently noted that America has to “examine our tragic failures” regarding race.

Beware of Fake News. I saw a statement on Twitter that basically denied this.

True. Bush may be planning not to vote for Trump, but he hasn't made any kind of official announcement so far as I know. Last time, Bush didn't vote for Trump, but I don't think he announced it beforehand, so maybe he will do the same this time.

If he actually wanted to help the Democrat with an endorsement, he'd wait until it was sure that Biden would be the nominee and until his announcement would have more effect. Commentators are quick to jump on rumors and first reports, but slow to see corrections and clarifications.

Bush showed me that he was a lefty when he ordered the plaques dedicated to the Confederate soldiers from Texas removed from the state capital. He is a RINO of the highest order. We were sold out but the other choices were not any better.

I would have voted for Ma Richards, if I knew what I know now.

At least it would have stopped his political career cold if he had lost.

Nota a surprise.

President Trump was elected to undo the life’s work of Bush League Republicans.

They are still determined to turn the USA into North Mexico.

From the article:

Freddy Ford, a spokesman for Bush, told The Texas Tribune that Bush would steer clear of speaking publicly on his presidential vote and called The New York Times assertion false.

“This is completely made up,” Ford said in an email. “He is retired from presidential politics and has not indicated how he will vote.”

And this occurs not only for the presidency, but for senators and congressmen.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And when they lose after both parties gang up to elect the Democrat, they convince people they were bad candidates and freepers parrot that line.
George P. Bush was the primary reason the GOP went along with the Kenyanesian Usurpation to eliminate the obstacle to the ineligible George P. Bush who was born a Mexican national from his Mexican national mother.
