What? They're going to take care of the safety of its citizens and the security of their homes, property and businesses by the honor system? WTF?!
I live in Florida near the infamous small town of Waldo, that was known far and wide for its radar speed traps. That's how they funded the town. Mostly by folks traveling through that weren't up to snuff on what the deal was.
Well, eventually the county investigated and shut the police force down. The county sheriff took over policing duties.
But Waldo is a very small town with nothing but a flea market there. Minneapolis is a huge city. Big difference.
This sounds like a bunch of Leftists thinking their socialist utopia is upon them and they can grab the brass ring and do this policing without guns or a police force.

No stories repeat that the cop and the victim worked together at a club that closed because of Covid. The cop worked there 17 years, at a club, where the temptation of money, drugs, prostitution and other similar criminal activities are de rigeur. He has a few complaints IIRC of use of force, which as the door “badge” may put that in another light. The victim was a tall man, and an interior club security person, with a drug and felonious history. Were they attached in a criminal enterprise and did they service the connected and powerful?
It is beyond incredible that a cop would randomly go to a counterfeiting call with a person he knew, and his acquaintance would wind up dead in a police action that NO cops I know would do...knee on the neck of a cuffed suspect for eight minutes? Anyone in LE ever hear of positional asphyxia? Just EVERYONE in LE. I believe part of the movement is a smoke screen to protect the powerful in Minneapolis. The cop won’t fess up to a higher charge, felony murder to hide a criminal enterprise, and NO ONE is interested in the higher ups in the criminal enterprise, if it exists, they want to bag a president.
Russia did not work. Impeachment did not work and was rushed. Covid did not work. BLM from that hard to look at death of a man who should not have died. I’ve noticed that 24/7 coverage of each of those issues to the exclusion of almost anything else including the previous 24/7 issue, the previous issue being almost totally dropped. That is more than weird. Managed media has an agenda and they appear ALL IN whatever their goal is.

Will they get rid of their armed guards. Will the mayor of LA go around with no security. This will be fun to watch all these idiots try to wriggle out of that one.
I think if perhaps the rioters had gone for bigger realestate like the Mall it would sink into these idiots faster...

Minneapolis was not terribly safe in the downtown theater district after midnight in the mid-90s when I visited.
I got the last bus back to St. Paul and the bus driver looked at me and said it was not wise to have been there. He was very uncomfortable and he was used to it, I would have thought.
I was the only one remotely sober at that bus stop. I don’t drink, and he noticed that.
I would be leaving that city as fast as humanly possible.
Do it! And no we won’t help when your city is destroyed. Let it burn.
