Any time now. These people are so ignorant. Robert E. Lee was actually almost the commander of the Union forces, but he decided to stick with his state. After the war, he spent a huge amount of his time and whatever fortune remained to him in trying to preach reconciliation and improve the lot of black people, particularly with regards to education, to prepare them to enter into American life as full participants. Many blacks in the slave states had literally received no education at all and it was forbidden to teach them or even teach them religion and baptize them.

Certainly he wasn’t perfect but who is/was? It’s so sad and terrifying to see this riot of ignorance sweeping the land.

Like the Constitution History is flexible and the past is never certain.
