Drew Brees addressed President Trump on Friday night after the president criticized him for backing down from his anthem stance. In a statement posted on Twitter, Brees told the president that the anthem protests were “not about the flag,” and that “we as a white community” need to listen and learn from the suffering of the “black communities.”
On Wednesday, Brees had said that he would never agree with anyone who would “disrespect” the flag by kneeling during the national anthem. That stance brought forth a torrent of criticism that eventually persuaded Brees to apologize twice over the next 36 hours.
That flip-flop caused President Trump to tweet at Brees on Friday afternoon, criticizing him for backing down:

This country and maybe the entire world has gone insane.
You must worship Blacks and that is not an exaggeration, not even a little bit. If someone says “All lives matter”, that is reason for firing.

Bree’s bosses didn’t like his message, and threatened to ruin him, and his future, his family’s future if he didn’t retract his commentary is how I see it. The Left is in everything that Freedom, and Liberty should be.

Americans of all colors have died for the nation. The presentation of colors by our military with our anthem honors our nation and those who sacrificed for it. It has nothing to do with police interactions with persons of color.
We allow them to hijack this at our own peril. If they can do this, they can destroy anything they wish.

It’s very simple, Drew, and you said it at the beginning. The flag is different for a lot of Americans.
Fact is, the suffering of the “black communities.” comes from forces internal to the “black communities” unless you add the Welfare State to the list of woes.
Here’s a direct quote from Colin Kaepernick from when he first started kneeling:
“I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color,” Kaepernick told NFL Media in an exclusive interview after the game. “To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.”
Kaepernick clearly made this about the flag, and now Trump has it wrong?
Brees is haplessly attempting to bronze his cowardly, stupid turd of a response to Trump.
The more Brees talks, the stupider and weaker he sounds. If he wasn’t going to stand by his original statement, he should have never said it. He may be a good football player, but he is showing himself to be a person without a spine.
They kneel before the Anthem and stand up after.
It is most certainly about the flag, the Anthem and a lazy way to protest without taking time out of their precious lives.
Drew, you can stop digging now. Everyone knows where you are on this.
