Despite protestations of principle from former Secretary of Defense James Mattis – “Chaos,” “Mad Dog,” and “Warrior Monk” -- you knew it was coming. Mattis resigned in February of 2019 over a policy dispute with President Trump, who was determined to end U.S. involvement in Syria’s endless civil war. At the time, Mattis piously intoned that he would not be criticizing a sitting president. He maintained that stance for over a year -- perhaps a deep state record in the Age of Trump Derangement.
When Mattis’s ritual denunciation of the sitting president finally came, it appeared in the reliably left-wing Atlantic -- the clearest signal of all as to where Mattis’s sympathies had always resided. The stunning thing about it was what a ridiculous potpourri of clichés it presented.
Three points need to be addressed -- and not according to Mattis’s own order of treatment, which is a little shaky, anyhow.
First, Mattis excoriates Trump for failing to unify Americans. Is he serious? Even before Trump took office, the Resistance to his presidency was being organized. It included many government officials and even many who intended to stay on as spies in the Trump White House. Trump’s inauguration was besieged by mobs of leftists in pussy hats, including womenfolk attached to FBI Director James Comey. A spurious probe into Russian interference was already underway, and would shortly be formalized with the demented figurehead Robert Mueller as its official representative. General Mike Flynn would shortly be forced out of office and prosecuted. The salacious Steele dossier would be promoted as a source of truths. Later on, one of Trump’s supremely qualified Supreme Court nominees would be targeted with absurd allegations of high school sexual aggression.

I must say I served with many great Marines in several Joint Headquarters and Joint Task Forces over a long career in the Army. Fine men and women indeed. I am shocked and disappointed in the Marine Flag Officer cabal of Mattis and Kelly. I hate to say it but the meaning of the Marine motto, “Semper Fi” is now questioned in my mind. Amazing how two disgraceful Marine Flag Officers can tarnish the reputation of an entire Corps. Sad - Very sad indeed.
Should tell you something.
If Mattis thinks he’s going to lead some kind of insurrection, he only needs to remember that he bleeds too.

President Trump has done more to help our minority brothers and sisters in three years than anyone in the last fifty. Ask the black pastors. Ask the leaders of the black colleges and universities. He got them funded. Ask them about the prison reform which ended the draconian sentences imposed on young black men by the law enacted by Biden and his hacks. You need to bone up on your homework and stop listening to Uncle Leon.
I understand, you had to stick to the assigned narrative which did not include three years of corrupt investigations and evidence to destroy this President, his office, and his lawful free election. Nancy has no tolerance for dissent in the ranks—including those with stars.
You said nothing of the ugly, hate filled, disgraceful coments of Pelosi, Schumer, Perez and other Democrat hacks defaming the President and his office. You said nothing of the unlawful sanctuary cities and the unlawful release of hoodlums. You said nothing of the resistance movement to paralyze our courts and our government operations. You said nothing of the obstruction and subversion of our immigration laws. You said nothing of MS-13 killers and the drug cartels who own huge sections of our major cities. Jim, do you think that rhetoric and those corrupt actions were inspiring and unifying? Do you think the DI’s at Parris Island would find such behavior as unifying?
Maybe, your problem, is a lot deeper. Perhaps you ought to explain how and why you (and John Allen), as CG Central Command, did not engage and take out Iranin Major General Soleimani who roamed the Middle East and wreaked havoc and death on our American boys with his infamous IEDs?
