They are listed in the indictment as suppliers numbered 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. But my guess (ignorant though it be) is yes..

My meat market guy at the local grocery store told me that they are all involved.

Gainesville, GA is the poultry capital of the world and is only 20 miles from here.

May explain why Costco decided to go into the broiler chicken business themselves instead of dealing with these crooks.

You will find more bone-in chicken than boneless. The factories in our area shift their production on a regular basis.

As an example... Kroger gets pre-packaged chicken directly from the producer and they use a yellow styrofoam bottom, if Kroger processes the chicken, they use a white styrofoam bottom.

Pilgrim’s CEO Jayson Penn and former vice-president Roger Austin, along with Claxton president Mikell Fries and vice-president Scott Brady are now the first to be charged in the agency’s price fixing investigation.

Rival poultry producers Tyson Foods and Sanderson Farms are also part of the Justice department investigation. Both have denied the allegations of wrongdoing.

In this modern communications age, I’m actually surprised we could have a cartel controlling the price and supply of chickens.

Anyone else notice that KFC chicken wings are now about the smallest you can get and are also almost all broken? Did the chickens owe loan sharks money? Does the slaughterhouse only hire sadists who love to break living chicken’s wings?

4 executives from chicken companies Pilgrim’s Pride and Claxton Poultry Farms appear to be the only ones that have become the ham sandwiches. Apparently Tyson is not involved. However Tyson is taking a hit on the stock exchange today. Should be noted that indictments are not convictions like as with Trump associates.

The trouble started with alcoholic chicken.

This may even force Walmart to build its own chicken farms and processing plants. And major institutional food suppliers like Sysco may do the same, too.

The last thing this country needs is more concentration in the food industry. We saw that during the virus shut-down.
