President Trump’s words and actions Monday – railing against “weak” governors and mayors, then holding a Bible outside a historic church near the White House – may have marked “the beginning of the end” of American democracy, a retired four-star Marine Corps general writes in an op-ed article.
“The slide of the United States into illiberalism may well have begun on June 1, 2020,” John Allen, who served as a special envoy for the global alliance against ISIS under former President Barack Obama and now heads the Brookings Institution think tank, writes in Foreign Policy magazine. “Remember the date. It may well signal the beginning of the end of the American experiment.”
Allen’s article appeared the same day that two other U.S. military figures – current Defense Secretary Mark Esper and former Defense Secretary James Mattis – also were publicly critical of the president.

Unless someone knows different, one thing that really disappoints me about President Trump and the rebuilding of our military forces, is that Obama (who’s father was a Communist; mother was a Communist; mother’s parents who raised him were Communists. And the person who was his mentor while growing up, was a Communist.) for the 8 years that he held that office, had purged the military of many strong conservative patriotic Generals and high officers who were combat experienced warriors, and replaced them with Politically Correct, Social Justice Warrior, Liberal Democrats. I have not heard of Trump doing anything to purge the military of Obama’s Affirmative Action SJW replacements. The Navy, Army, and Air Force leadership are severely infected. Even the Marines are showing PC weaknesses.
If there is a New Civil War, Navy Seal Craig “Sawman” Sawyer said it will be very short. Why? “Because one side in this conflict has 8 Trillion bullets & the other side doesn’t know which bathroom to use.” But I don’t know. If Biden wins and the Leftists take this country, America will be destroyed. While some police and National Guard get on their knees in fealty to the rioters, are there any American military service branches that can be counted on to take this country back, such as the Elite Combat Special Forces, i.e. Marine Raiders, Navy Seals, Force Recon, Delta Force, Army Rangers, Green Berets, etc.??
What I feel was our last “legitimate” war was World War II. Anything after that we shouldn’t have been in.

PS: My late father in law, a Lt. Col. (turned down a two grade jump to Brigadier because of his wife’s illness), was a combat veteran of the Pacific, starting at Pearl Harbor and ended with 3 Purple Hearts including IWO. Then became one of the top Counter Intelligence officers in the US Army against the Soviets/East Germans.

There is something to be said about the soldiers of “The Greatest Generation”. Patton was the best fighter. So was Buckner. They knew how to fight and who the enemy was. Mark Clark and some of the others were weak (i.e. Bradley) and didn’t know how to fight.
Mattis and Allen think that Trump is “the enemy”. Shows how degenerate our military leadership has become, esp. under Comrade Mullah Obama.
Trump not only has to fight ISIS, the Red Chinese, Russians, and regional communists, he has to fight fools and traitors right here at home, including the Democrat Party and Generals Mattis and Allen.
I think Trump is winning and as Gen. Mattis heard, “You’re fired”. The Secy of the Navy, a weak fish was “You’re fired” along with a couple other Obama squishes and light in the loafer officers. Maybe Esper is going to go bye-bye if he doesn’t shape up. I can live with that.
America needs fighters, not law illiterates advising the President.
