Manuel Ellis died of respiratory arrest due to hypoxia.
That means the 33-year-old black man was deprived of oxygen or choked out while being restrained in the street by Tacoma police officers, in handcuffs.
In a nation already reeling from the murder of George Floyd and too many other black Americans, Ellis March 3 death amounts to a homicide, the Pierce County Medical Examiners office concluded this week.

Here's another one much like the other one.
H/T Uncle Miltie in Tacoma hunkered down.
How about an update?
Let me guess. The cops just picked him ar random and choked him for no reason at all.

Uh, no. Floyd was killed. Only a jury can decide if it was murder or not.
You got it. Haven’t you seen enough of these not to know the drill? They picked his name out of the phone book or where they get names now.
Ellis then picked up the officer by the vest and slam-dunked them onto the ground. Thats when the second officer got out of the car and worked to physically get Ellis into custody.
Another beauty.
What are all these police accusations occurring in liberal strongholds where liberals are in charge of government and politics. Should conservatives be called in to correct all these liberal failures?
Too bad. George Flyod Day has already been written. So sad for all after him.
According to leftists, all crime is justified, so yes, the police should have just left him alone.
Aw, heck. I worded my post #4 wrong. It should have been:
Uh, no. Floyd died. Only a jury can decide if it was murder or not.
Indeed. If they had hed have been able to show his support for Floyd by getting his loot on. Heartless cops.
Because the cops know better in conservative areas which generally also have lower crime rates. Plus we have better manners (except for the millenials).
It’s hard for drug users to make money at petty crime in less dense areas, too easy to get caught, no crowds to melt into and everyone knows who you are.
Also in rural areas the cops are called to come get the body, not for crime still ongoing.
Pounding on occupied cars, trying to open the doors, harrassed a woman tried to get in her car, on drugs, mentally ill, enlarged heart, attacked cops, they called an ambulance early. Restraining Ellis was necessary - did they lean on him too long, position him badly, not respond to medical distress?
Or, did they do the best that could be expected, and did he die in spite of it? An an editorial written as reporting, with the assumption that whenever a black man dies in police custody, the police killed him? The writer should do some real reporting, not simply accuse.
Verrry dangerous to be a black man in a liberal town.
The narrative must be maintained!
They headed down to UWT on Pacific Ave. I’m up on the North Slope, so they headed away from me.
Sunday, they came up Yakima 5 blocks from my house. I could hear the chants. So I got more ready then in case they turned my way.
No so much now....

This is not going to look good, putting the cops on suspension only after the news is belatedly reported. Smells like a coverup. By the Black Woman Mayor.
The News Tribune here in Tacoma has about two whole repoters. Their parent company is either in or approaching bankruptcy. So we get only the dregs for coverage.
Uh, no. Floyd died in police custody. Only a jury can decide if he was killed.
What a horribly written piece. Could only read a few paragraphs, quite intolerable.
