James Mattis Denounces President Trump, Describes Him as a Threat to the Constitution

James Mattis, the esteemed Marine general who resigned as secretary of defense in December 2018 to protest Donald Trump’s Syria policy, has, ever since, kept studiously silent about Trump’s performance as president. But he has now broken his silence, writing an extraordinary broadside in which he denounces the president for dividing the nation, and accuses him of ordering the U.S. military to violate the constitutional rights of American citizens.

“I have watched this week’s unfolding events, angry and appalled,” Mattis writes. “The words ‘Equal Justice Under Law’ are carved in the pediment of the United States Supreme Court. This is precisely what protesters are rightly demanding. It is a wholesome and unifying demand—one that all of us should be able to get behind. We must not be distracted by a small number of lawbreakers. The protests are defined by tens of thousands of people of conscience who are insisting that we live up to our values—our values as people and our values as a nation.” He goes on, “We must reject and hold accountable those in office who would make a mockery of our Constitution.”

Not an idiot. A tame lapdog of the establishment. Mattis is the guy who, if you recall, tried very hard to stop the ‘no more trannies’ rule from the President. He is typical of what has become the default mode for the people at the top of the armed services. Mattis has learned that the only way to get along and get spending bills passed with the Dems today is roll over and accept whatever lunacy they are pushing. People such as Mattis know conservative traditional Americans are no threat no matter what crap they let be done to the armed services. But the libs are genuinely vicious and one better not fight them. If one does, no one will support you and your career will be destroyed along with ones personnel reputation. Pretty soon people like Mattis don't notice they have become just like the lib rats.

Turns out Mattis and Honoré are both big disappointments.

You are completely confused and ignorant about Russ Honore. Russ never kissed an ass, never. He is the anthesis of the Beltway General. He was certainly a friend of the soldier and that got him in trouble many times with the political generals. We served together in the same Regiment as battalion commanders and the last time I saw him was sitting in from of the Super Bowl during Katrina bringing sanity to a political attempt by Governor Blanco and Mayor Nagrin to destroy a Republican President. I'll fight with Russ any day.

Marines personal views have nothing to do with what is about to happen. Marines follow orders. And those orders will be given in a way that makes what is happening difficult or impossible to understand for the troops who have to carry them out.
