James Mattis Denounces President Trump, Describes Him as a Threat to the Constitution
The Atlantic ^ | 6/3/2020 | Jeffrey Goldberg

Posted on 06/03/2020 3:36:10 PM PDT by McGruff

James Mattis, the esteemed Marine general who resigned as secretary of defense in December 2018 to protest Donald Trump’s Syria policy, has, ever since, kept studiously silent about Trump’s performance as president. But he has now broken his silence, writing an extraordinary broadside in which he denounces the president for dividing the nation, and accuses him of ordering the U.S. military to violate the constitutional rights of American citizens.

“I have watched this week’s unfolding events, angry and appalled,” Mattis writes. “The words ‘Equal Justice Under Law’ are carved in the pediment of the United States Supreme Court. This is precisely what protesters are rightly demanding. It is a wholesome and unifying demand—one that all of us should be able to get behind. We must not be distracted by a small number of lawbreakers. The protests are defined by tens of thousands of people of conscience who are insisting that we live up to our values—our values as people and our values as a nation.” He goes on, “We must reject and hold accountable those in office who would make a mockery of our Constitution.”

There really is no reason for him to sound off like this unless there’s really something they have on him.

Just why is he called “Mad Dog”? Did he ever win a single major battle or offensive? I can understand Generals Patton, Washington, Grant, Sherman and Jackson earning their place in history. This guy? What exactly did he do? Did he give himself the nickname?

Damned traitor. He is a sellout and was all mouth. When Marines actually DID what he said in theat “tears in my eyes, I’ll kill you all” speech...he prosecuted them.

He sold his name to that Theranos woman to peddle his influence as one of her board members.

Lifelong “bachelor” who was happy to bring in homos and trannies.

Eff him. Globalist jerk.

This is the perfect example of where “legend” is unmasked by LACK of character.

I totally get your EDIT point, but the word "character" does not automatically infer a positive. People can have a bad character or a good character and it's never static.

Mattis was actually fired.

While POTUS was holed up in the WH during Christmas break 2018 during the government shutdown, he made a quick unannounced trip to Iraq to talk to frontline commanders on the ground. The trip was related to Mattis. I explain below.

First, a little background on Donald Trump’s upbringing and what his father Fred taught him about business management. When young Donald was learning the ropes of construction and construction management, his father and his father’s closest managers taught young Donald to always verify reports. What that meant is when a manager makes a report on project status, you always go on site and talk with workers to get confirmation. This does a few things. One, it ensures the project director is not insulated from the lower ranks. Two, it confirms whether the manager making the report is accurate or not. Three, it lets all levels of the organization know that the project director is aware of everything or will find out so it has the effect that all up and down the chain of command employees know the guy in charge is on top of things.

POTUS had asked Mattis how long would it take and how much would it cost to clear ISIS out of Iraq and destroy them.

Mattis reported it would take two years and billions of dollars.

POTUS then made his secret trip to Iraq and asked soon after getting off AF1 to the Field Commanders meeting him on the runway after landing the same question of how long it would take to destroy ISIS and what they would need to do it.

The Field Commanders answered, “Mr. President, if there are no restrictions on how we operate, if we can adapt the ROE to real wartime operations, we can destroy ISIS in two weeks and we don’t need any more troops or equipment to get it done.”

POTUS returned to the WH and fired Mattis but it was announced that “Mattis was stepping down” so that the General could save face.

This was published in Heavy and was mentioned skimpily in a few MSM outlets but is now near impossible to find using search engines. Otherwise I would link it.

The bottomline is General Mattis was part of the crop of military ‘administrators’ that put priority in big offices, big budgets, big $$$ influence inside the Pentagon.

POTUS saw the true nature of Mattis, realized he was no Patton, then fired him.

And now Mattis is seeking favor with the Left.

All we need to know about Mattis and his cutesy nickname ‘Mad Dog’. Too bad he didn’t live up to the fable built around him.

Before Mattis became SecDef, I thought he was great.

Then he went to crap. He was on board with open homosexuality and transsexuals in the military.

Unbelievable.

That seems to me like an accurate comparison, which is damning, because Colin Powell showed himself to have absolutely zero moral compass in the Valerie Plame crap.

He knew all along Scooter Libby had done nothing wrong.

Somebody convinced President Trump that Mattis was a normal guy who would be helpful because of his experience. I wonder what enemy of POTUS that was.

Boy was that person WRONG.

Six cops are dead and Mattis talks about ignoring the few lawbreakers. He is being a deliberate fool and the police have been facing an onslaught in many cities. Trump is right and most of the American people are behind the military protecting us if it comes to it.

Matis is really angry that Trump fired him and wouldn’t let him go to war with Iran.

So was “Mad Dog” in a Coma during the entire 8 years of the Obama Regime? Or, has the check cleared? Not that I would even begin to question his personal sense of Honor or Integrity. Nope. Not me.
