I learned I was a conservative at age 19 in 1969. I was in an Econ 101 class at IA State Univ. One day everyone in class was wearing a black arm band except me. They were showing support for Jane Fonda when she went to North Vietnam. The entire class spent the hour denigrating me but I didn’t cave. I laughed at them and told them they were traitors. Somehow I lived through it.
