The police won’t come and you better not do anything? Like not protect yourself in any manner?
I'm glad someone is still shocked by the emerging reality.
In some jurisdictions you can still “get away” with using reasonable force. But those jurisdictions are shrinking. And when the next Democrat president is elected, using force for any reason against members of a protected class will be a federal hate crime - or worse.
Right now there are cities and states where defending yourself with a firearm with a magazine capable of holding 10 rounds is a felony. And it is going to get worse.
I'm not advocating this foolishness; just giving an alarmed heads-up.
