The Left created such a toxic environment, that people who are successful in other endeavors, don’t want to get involved with politics. Why give that up to deal with these jerks?

Agree. Who wants to drag themselves and their families through the political cesspool and endure constant media attacks. And then there’s the problem of intrusive Deep State surveillance that is used by vile political opponents.
Yep, its not worth it. Honorable people have no reasons to sacrifice or serve in a toxic government. Our experiment in democracy was nice while it lasted.
