Democratic governors and mayors have been mugged by reality. Theyre suffering from shock, as violence and looting rage on.
Their hands bitten to the bone by the hard political left they once thought they could use and tame.
Police have been shot by rioters. Lawyers in New York were arrested after allegedly attempting to firebomb a police car with officers inside.
Food stores in urban food deserts have been destroyed, as have the downtowns of many of the great cities, Chicago among them, which suspended canceled its school meal program for hungry children, most of them minorities.
The looters roll on into the suburbs. And suburban soccer moms, with their guilt and their Hate Has No Home Here signs on their lawns, download police scanner apps and wonder where they can buy a gun.
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo condemned de Blasio as a failure for not stopping the violence there and suggested he could be removed from office.
The NYPD and the mayor did not do their job last night. I believe that, Cuomo fumed. The police in New York City were not effective in doing their job. They have to do a better job.
Democratic governors and mayors did little if anything to stop the violence, which encouraged the criminals. In Illinois and elsewhere, the mayors and governors backed off and watched as businesses were destroyed.
Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey abandoned a police station. The mob burned the station in triumph, triggering yet more violence that spread across the nation.
Now these mayors and governors cringe and make mewing sounds of appeasement, caught between their hard-left political base and the growing disillusionment of voters. Some begin to devour themselves.
Winston Churchill once said, Each one hopes that if he feeds the crocodile enough it will eat him last.

mugged by reality? Or complicit?
Complicit definitely! Mugged by the reality of impending full martial law and all it entails.
Complicit, near as I can tell.
“mugged by reality? Or complicit?”
Complicit with virtually no fear of reprisal. Sure, Cuomo expressed some discontent, but that is only because he runs state wide and has to try to keep the soccer moms from upstate on his side.
The rest will be easily re-elected. Rewarded for their sabotage of America.
They don’t care about what is happening to their constituents.
And, rather than EVER admit that Trump is correct, they’ll let the mayhem continue without help from the feds. Do not agree with Trump on anything. If it’s noon, by golly you say it’s midnight. Grrrrrrrrr
“They dont care about what is happening to their constituents.”
They will all be reelected by their constituents.

BREAKING: Sgt. Stephen Williams of the Moody, Alabama police force has been shot and killed in the line of duty this evening.
He was a 50 yr old, married with 3 children.
They dont want to be voted out so they let the riots go on and will continue to go on. Cant be tough like Trump. Gotta stay loyal to the leftist cause! Orange man bad!
Lost in the mix...
There has been more white on black violence in the past week than, cumulatively and quantitively, white on black violence during the entire post-modern Jim Crow era (1910-1968).
As usual, the whites are all Democrats or leftist-leaning communists.
Wonder how many new Trump voters they birthed in this madness around us ????
This is the truth. I live in CA (for two more months) and we have nearly 100% Democrats in office around here. Some one-off mayors can be GOP, but all State, Federal and Union/Schools, etc. are all Dems.
I am represented by Heels Up, DiFi and Gavin. Plus the local Dems who are concerned with Global Warming and illegal immigrant healthcare. Or raising taxes and fees. It’s a cluster.
That is a frightening scene.
It really makes you wonder about De Blasios motives. His administration only functioned because NY City is the home of financial trading in US dollar securities, the worlds reserve currency. NY City and State used to be a large, balanced economy, but globalists and leftists hollowed that out over the past decades. De Blasio’s marxist, SJW regime and City (and the State) government only survive because of the skimmings from that.
If he purposely drives people and money out - which will certainly occur now - the city (and State) will collapse. Badly.
If I, a normal citizen with no power or inside information knows this - how much more is he aware of it?
Hope so. Looks like they are attempting to let people suffer and think they have license to get away with it.
These bullies hectored and lectured business owners and law-abiding citizens for daring to ask that the government respect their Constitutional rights - all because the virus had to be contained. Yet they are effing MUTE with thugs and criminals running rampant every which way. What, thugs and criminals are immune to viruses?
If one good thing comes out of this craziness, perhaps the country can see the inherent BS of this lockdown. Yeah, the FluBros and FluBras were right after all.
I lived in the Detroit area in the early 90’s. That is EXACTLY what had happened.
The riots in the late 60’s, followed by Coleman Young’s in-your-face black power administration, forced hundreds of thousands of residents to flee the city. For the most part they were white residents. The city’s tax and business base collapsed while the suburbs north of 8 Mile became some of the wealthiest communities in the United States.
This had racial implications as well. A 1990 Detroit News study of census data revealed that the population of Detroit was 80% black, while in the five largest suburbs with a total population of 500K they could identify only 3000 black households. (this has since changed as black residents with a brain started fleeing the city too). In some places crossing 8 Mile was like crossing the Mexican border.
My point is that we have an actual real-world lab experiment that proves what will happen, and yet Democrat city leaders from coast to coast choose to IGNORE it.
Given enough time and effort, Dems will make every city Detroit.
