I appreciate as well. My view is simple. Politics ruin sports - at least for me. While Tiger balances pro sports figures opinion ever so little (since there are so many loud mouth leftist athletes), his impact is minimal. There are already voices from the right (and the left) that are outside of sports. I see it as being consistent to want all of them to keep their opinions to themselves. I say this so the sport is not ruined. While we agree with Tiger, many will not. Could that potentially drive people away from watching golf? I don't know. I'm not driven way from golf yet. But I no longer watch the four major pro sports.
And this is a prime example of why these issues will NEVER be resolved. Tiger Woods simply stated an accurate and honest opinion and was attacked. There is no appeasing some of them, because they do not want to appeased.
