We are, I believe, in one of the toughest times in our country's history, as we continue to battle a deadly pandemic and the resulting economic havoc while, once again, coming face-to-face with the long-term effects of racial injustice. Watching tens of thousands take to the streets to speak out against fear and inhumanity is, on one hand, inspiring for the commitment it represents and, on the other, heartbreaking for its profound need.
But what's next? What do we do to change the cycle in which black men or women, with tragic frequency, are harmed by those who are supposed to protect them? Or the gut-wrenching truth that to be a person of color in America is often to not feel fully safe, seen or heard?
For me, it starts with seeing the situation for what it is, acknowledging these experiences for what they are and, quite simply, apologizing for not doing enough. As important, it includes committing the company I lead down a path of systemic, permanent change in as many ways as we can find.

So glad they’re focusing on this rather than providing better products and service.
That's an easy question to answer. For me and for many other decent Americans, what's next is that Best Buy permanently joins my boycott list. Best Buy is now dead to me. Get woke, go broke.
Yep.
Its hobbling, a controlling method.
It diminishes black Americans by telling them that they are a people not an individual person.

I’d like this question answered by our esteeemed political leaders. Especially those of color.
1. Which of these two would do more good if it happened overnight:
a.All cops are perfect and colorblind in their actions.
b. Every black child, currently 70% now born to single mothers, has a mother and father in their home.
The Best Buy boss isn’t making any sense with his babbling, but he will, on balance, lose many more customers and go out of business.
I pulled up there the other day to buy a new router. They said I had to have an appointment. I said I wouldnt be back.
Sure. Just give away stuff to anyone of color. make the rest of us pay. That would be reperations. See how that works.
Maybe they can enhance their affirmative action plans and ban the hiring of Caucasian applicants.
Sounds like a good business plan.
LOL
Well said. The leaders will need to evaluate and change their own culture.
LOL! Its no wonder the looters keep rampaging through stores night after night. With ‘rewards’ like that and no restraints whatsoever there is virtually no disincentive not to keep on doing it.
Their lawless behavior is being positively reinforced every night.
Your post is 100% spot on.
Until any of the below starts happening in the black community, all of this will continue on and on.
Another store I wont shop at - the list is getting so long I Ill soon have to open my own store to shop at.
I received the sappy, pandering long winded virtue signaling email about an hour ago, as I’m a BB card holder. He’ll likely save thousands of $$$ in employee theft, since their team is mostly comprised of twenty year old pukes, but it’s gonna very likely turn off the consumers who are actual thinking adults. I’ll keep the card open for the sake of my credit longevity score, but they’ve just made the list that I put Steve Carell on, yesterday.
Best Buy is now dead to me. Get woke, go broke.

I find the local appliance stores have much better service and are more responsive than a big box store like BB. I may window shop for items at BB but I’m not going to buy from them.
Only thing I’d add is build generational wealth, but good list in general.
“their team is mostly comprised of twenty year old pukes,”
During the 2016 campaign we went to BB intending to buy two laptops in Turkey Creek/Farragut, TN. The sales guy, a long-haired and freaky young man, took every opportunity to disparage Trump. We left.
Don’t people understand that at least half of the customers who they interact with believe the exact opposite of them? How does management expect to run a business with employees like that?
He ought to poll his employees to see who agrees with him. Then tell those who are white and with him that they are expected to quit and give their jobs to a black person whom they are oppressing.
Corporate America is knocking each other over issuing PC press releases, so predicable.
