This is laughable. A few dozen local toughs stood on the streets and let their voices be heard--making it very clear that they weren't going to let their neighborhood get trashed like nearby Port Richmond did the previous night.

The lily-white pearl-clutchers felt that this was oh, so gauche.

Exactly. They, and I refer to the the pearl clutching journalists who live in gated suburban communities and local politicians would have preferred to have seen Girard Avenue destroyed. As it is there have been 150 ATM machines blown up with home made bombs. But the real crime was us defending our neighborhood without violence.
