Spent about a year and a half as a Red Cross volunteer at Walter Reed during Desert Storm on ward 52, the amputation ward.
For the past 3 years I've been involved in a group that volunteers once a month bring lunch to the W.R. staff, patients and their families on Saturday's when the cafeteria is closed.
My respect for our first responders is through the roof and then some, on steroids.
All the while thinking Basic had better cuss words.
For the first time in 30 years, our annual ride to support/donate for the WV VA hospital is cancelled, due to “Covid”.
Apparently it can fly fast enough to infect a couple thousand bikers on an interstate.
The money we raise every year [average, couple hundred thou] pays for their “non essentials”, like soap, toothpaste, underwear, etc.
But a couple thousand looters rubbing all over each other is *just fine*.

the bastards who put these guys in a situation like this without being able to defend themselves should be locked up. I would not do a dog like that. I remember what happened at Kent State and the Democrats hounded and tormented the guys for years. It is really a crying shame.If they are going to be put in a situation like this with these wild animals, give them all the ammunition they can use and the green light to use at their discretion. If whoever put those Guardsmen/women in this situation believes that these animals will respect them and heed their commands just because of who they are has another think coming. Those guys are in for a long night and a dog fight.
Words won’t hurt. It’s very rude, and a normal guy on the street probably wouldn’t tolerate it. That’s why the guy is ding it, because he can get away with it and get in the internet. It is disgusting. I’ve had somebody yell very nasty things to me at work, and I just have to let it go.

This soldier is teaching the little boy how men behave. It would have been nice if he could have softly said to the lout, “Son, I can tell you’ve had a pretty messed up life...probably haven’t been loved too much, didn’t have a father around to teach you the things that are important in life. I understand. If you like, maybe I could come by where you live and we could talk about things, see where you’re at, see if I could help. Or maybe I could just kick you little ass.”
We should endeavor sending PERSONAL letters to the Commanding General and his commanding officer stating how proud we are of this sergeant, and to make many more like him.
And meritoriously promote him to Staff Sergeant.
