For years, Philadelphia has been run by liberal progressives who oppose private gun ownership. In Philadelphia, a permit is required to carry a gun or transport one in a vehicle. Although Pennsylvania state law prohibits Philadelphia from enacting all of the gun control measures the city’s leaders wish, the city’s website reads like a gun control propaganda sheet.
The city’s progressive leaders believe that guns should not be widely owned by ordinary citizens. The protection of the city’s residents should be handled exclusively by the police department.
But what happens when the police are unable to protect the city’s residents? The entire theory collapses. That’s exactly what happened over the weekend in Philadelphia.

You could not pay me enough to live in filthydelphia. I hate that city, nothing good ever happens there. I asked someone, where are the nice places to live in Philly, you know, the nice neighborhoods, because most of it is crack house after crack house and he said, Jersey.
Back to topic, yes, this week reinforced why we have a 2nd Amendment, cause when seconds count, the police may never show up.
This proved that.
The Police have never been able to protect Americans.
They give the illusion but showing up with 4x the number of police they really need and everyone backs down.
I went toe-to-toe with three blacks in Portland OR who were harassing a retired couple.
I suggested they find something better to do (with my hand in my jacket).
They turned tail probably thinking I had Ms Kimber with me.
In afterthought, it probably wasn’t the smartest thing I’ve ever done.

Anyone on FR who doesn’t own a firearm should buy one now. If nothing else, get a 12 gauge pump action shotgun (and lost of ammo!) for your home. Then get some training and education, and figure out what else your family needs for security.

We had 45 “major” incidents here in Davenport, Iowa. Two deaths and one wounded cop. They actually ambushed a squad car with three officers in it.
They’ve put a curfew on the whole county.

I prefer auto-loaders.
Many people prefer autoloaders. However, there are times when a pump (or for handguns, a revolver) is the right answer.
I guess, but I have my prejudices.
