First B-1B bombers sighted near Taiwan since Trump announcement on Hong Kong
TAIPEI (Taiwan News) Two B-1B bombers and two support tankers were spotted flying from Guam and nearing northeast Taiwan on Sunday (May 31).
On Sunday (May 31), Twitter user Golf9, who specializes in airband monitoring, radar spotting, and aircraft spotting, reported that two B-1B Lancers and two Boeing KC-135 Stratotankers had taken off from Andersen Air Force Base in Guam and flown into the East China Sea near the northeast corner of Taiwan. Taiwanese and Chinese authorities have yet to issue an official response to the patrol.
After refueling the bombers, the two tankers headed back to base in Guam. Meanwhile, the two Lancers turned northeast, flying over the Northern Pacific on a flightpath bound for Alaska.
The flights were the first since President Trump announced Friday (May 29) that the U.S. is ending Hong Kong's special trade status in response to China's new draconian security law directed at the territory. He also announced the U.S. withdrawal from the WHO, new restrictions on Chinese nationals affiliated with the People's Liberation Army (PLA) studying in the U.S., and an investigation into Chinese companies listed on U.S. financial markets.
U.S. warplanes fly close to Taiwan, Hong Kong B-1B bombers, refueling aircraft based in Guam
TAIPEI (Taiwan News) Two B-1B bombers and a refueling aircraft from the United States Air Force flew past south Taiwan and close to Hong Kong Tuesday (May 26), according to Aircraft Spots.
The flights came as tension in the region has been increasing due to Chinas announcement of a national security law for Hong Kong and the frequent passage of Chinese warplanes and Navy ships close to Taiwan.
The two bombers and the KC-135R tanker aircraft left Andersen Air Force Base in Guam on their way to the South China Sea, according to Aircraft Spots.
Cable station SETN speculated that the aircraft having flown near Hong Kong might be a signal to China over its handling of the former British territory.
China's proposed national security law has met with widespread indignation overseas and a resumption of protests within Hong Kong itself.
Well if the nukes fly .... a whole heap of democrats are going to be dead in those big cities ....
And a whole heap of conservatives too.
More in those big cities that vote for money or death anyhow. The cries from the big cities is give me your money or it will be your death ....
“specializes in airband listening and radar tracking”.
Neither of these, for US military aircraft, are available to the public. So, this is a leak through a leaker.
Whatever. We have lots of assets in the area, not subject to public release.
Well, that was an interesting reply to my comment.
It's so aggressive that one has to consider just how accidental the COVID release to the world really was.

Yep ... so true
With the CCP threatening Taiwan, sending a message to China by stationing a squadron of F-35s on Taiwan might be a good idea.
It is also likely that the U.S. Navy has an attack sub tracking every Chinese submarine, and also Navy P-8s on station with sonobuoys and anti-submarine torpedoes.
Im going to hate voting for democrats after Im dead. With the way they count the numbers at voting time no telling how many times I unwilling voted for a democrat without knowing ....
yeah right.... in clear comms and radar. Please. What gullibilty. Maybe it’s.... “the Russians!”... see: Susan Rice.
Sure, IFF is on that. We let out what we want, FRiend.
Naww.... say it ain’t so. But try getting a real answer out of Fort Detrick.
“not natural” is what informed investigators have share. The chi-coms can’t manage a hobo cluster-F. They released the variant they stole from US labs and developed in Wuhan— back in January on Uyghurs in labor camps- killing an estimated 60K. But their “techs” who did this, got infected themselves, and the intended release on Taiwan did not occur to true effect. That, and the diligence of Taiwan’s great intel people, let us know.
And the chi-coms directed some at Kim Jong Un to keep him in line and his military doing what china says. Woe unto them at this point. Or...not and kim jong un controlled.
In the navy, the submariners have a saying: there are two kinds of boats at sea, submarines and targets. :’)
Thanks.
Yes, indeed- and anything released by ComSubPac in re: forward deployed assets cycling through “contingency operations” is one of the rare times anything (anything) is said about US submarine actions... anywhere. So is useful in
Sun Tzu tactics.
Cannot understand why anyone would “ape” and blab comm information, and think they should be believed. Guess it is because they don’t have enough to do, like running a business. Or are kind of like “stolen valor” types who need to feel important, or worse- working for the chi-com (failed Bushies-like) opposition or a cut out.
7th generation US Navy in our family (starting under John Paul Jones) and 4 gens in the Silent Service, one with a famous Whitey Mack 47 day tail on Lapon. Real Cold War heroes to all our family.
I’ve heard SAC doing HF radio checks in the U.S.
