Sorry, this is a Vanity Post!
Just giving you a quick update from the Twin Cities...
The Mpls and St Paul Police, along with the National Guard and State Patrol are doing a stellar job of breaking up any problems tonight.
They were out early before dark driving protestors away from the 5th Precinct HQ with a barrage of tear gas and fkash bangs. The two latter items are being used liberally across the city.
The rioters are scattered in many smaller groups across parts of south Minneapolis. There is no safety in numbers factor for them. The police has organized strike force groups going after them.
There are several Blackhawk helicopters flying over coordinating things with the ground forces.
Per local news, in some neighborhoods, people have been coming out yelling at the protestors and telling them to get the hell out of their neighborhood.
There is a night and day difference between last night when police and the Guard couldn't be found.
On the St Paul side, they are reporting few problems - even along University Avenue.
There are scattered rumors of very small activities in other parts of Minnesota but no one seems worried.
Governor Walz held a press conference at 10:30AM. He looked relieved that things were going so well. So did Mayor Jacob Frey.
Aim small, miss small...
YOUR life is all that matters, in a situation like this. Every other consideration is secondary.
