I know. And they were singing our National Anthem. It choked me up. I just wonder how things would be if they were no longer under duress and living in another country.
The American birth rate is less than what is needed to maintain our population. We need some people, why not some of the best in the world? If your population is not growing your country is dying.
We’d be nuts not to take advantage of getting some of the best people the World has to offer.

Agree, IF (1) They become U.S. citizens, and (2) they LOVE America. Anything less would not be acceptable.

You are so correct. In general Americans are so much more tolerant of other cultures and races than Brits ever were. The Brits when ruling as colonial power in India considered themselves as quite superior. But that was mostly the ruling elites. The “commoners” in UK are much different, and can make the best friends if they get to know you. My uncle studied and worked in England in 1940’s and he always spoke nicely about his experiences in England. His landlady was his best friend in England!
And why is that? We can either fix our country so that our own people once again have the confidence in the future to start families, have the money to buy homes and raise kids.
Or, we can import another 50 million people from utterly alien cultures and see whatever we used to think of as "America" be utterly swamped and diminished. We can live as a barely tolerated minority in a country run by Indians and Chinese, and sure, maybe we can have a good GDP.
I think that's a fools choice. It's the choice of the (to my mind) discredited CivNats and cuckservatives. I choose to not support that future.
Obviously, you and many others on the right disagree, and hold fast to the ideas of the "proposition nation". All I can do is shake my head in sadness at that.
The totalitarian nations of the world build walls to keep people in. They do so because they know if they did not they would continue to lose their best and brightest.Why be sad if the world is offering you gold, take it! These people want liberty and that is the essence of the American dream! Of course the best solution is to bring back liberty here and that is what Article V was put into the Constitution for.
By the way, you don't hear about many problems from the Vietnamese who escaped communism do you? It's all a matter of letting in the right people.
