I live within a 1/2 hour of metro Detroit and I don’t know anyone that got the virus.

I have an African American employee who has many overweight older relatives who live in New York; both her aunt and grandmother died of it.
And I have another employee whose older son (in CA) with diabetes got it, was in the hospital for a week and recovered.
Other than that, I personally know of no one who got it—unless my fever and coughing in late Feb was covid.
The cases numbers aren’t important— the hospitalizations are. I live in one of the free states and know six people that tested positive. One of them cut my hair a couple of weeks ago (medically cleared a month ago), one needed oxygen (older overweight woman), four were asymptomatic, and one was down for a couple of days with the flu.
