I'm reminded of an exchange Barry Goldwater had with a reporter during the 1964 campaign.

REPORTER: Senator Goldwater, when will the Republican Party become the peace party?

GOLDWATER: Become the peace party? We are the peace party. What we are not, and won't become, is the "peace at any price" party.

I don’t believe in burying your head in the sand but I also don’t believe in warmongering.

I don’t believe Goldwater would support waging wars to overthrow regimes around the world, and dealing with the destabilizing effects, while killing thousands for 21 years and counting.
