Hollywood actress Frances Fisher posted an inflammatory tweet this week calling for a “race war” in apparent response to the death of George Floyd who was arrested by former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin, who was seen on video putting his knee on Floyd’s neck. The Titanic and HBO’s Watchmen star also quoted convicted cop killer Assata Shakur before deleting the tweet.
“They want a race war. We’ll give them a race war,” Frances Fisher wrote on Tuesday, according to an archived screenshot of the deleted tweet. She also expressed her support for the Black Lives Matter movement. “I’m with #BlackLivesMatter. We will win.”
The actress then quoted Assata Shakur, a member of the Black Liberation Army who murdered New Jersey State Trooper Werner Foerster in 1973.

The hideous death of George Floyd demonstrated a serious, non-racial problem of the Minneapolis PD, since, in 2017, one of it officers murdered a white woman who was reporting a possible rape, approached his cruiser, and was fatally shot. Taking those two horrible killings together, the Civil Rights Division of the DOJ must be turned loose on the Minneapolis PD to investigate it fully, determine what’s wrong, and impose a complete solution. After all, no other major U.S. police department has committed two horrible atrocities like this in a mere four years. As examples, the officers involved must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law for their willful, deliberate violation of Floyd’s civil rights.

I was a fan of the Watchmen in the graphic novel version, and the movie wasn’t completely terrible. The series on HBO was unwatchable. It bore little to no resemblance to the original concept in the comic book. It was all about racism, and I think this Fisher woman took it all too seriously. She probably thinks the world is actually like the series.

Reminds me of the southern gentlemen in Gone With the Wind at a dinner party hoping they went to war with the north.
But a race war? 13% of the population against the rest? Not just 13%, but an easily recognizable 13%? Burning their own neighborhoods is one thing, going in to burn and loot in non-black neighborhoods would be quite a different matter. The locals would fight back.
