Some businesses pledge to keep out customers who cover their faces

For 64 days, Kevin Smith had shut down the Liberty Tree Tavern to comply with government orders. Now he was cleaning and disinfecting and removing stools to cut seating by three-quarters as he prepared to reopen the bar.

Plexiglass screens had gone up at the supermarket checkout. His neighbors in Elgin, Texas, were still wearing masks outside, even after it was no longer mandated by the county. He did not think such a response was necessary, he said, and he wanted to push back.

"Sorry, no mask allowed," read the poster taped to the front door of his bar Friday. "Please bare with us thru the ridiculous fearful times."

“ridiculous fearful times.”

Ain’t THAT the truth. He’s probly concerned someone wearing a mask is gonna come in and rob him. I’ve noticed a lot of people where I am wearing masks when it doesn’t seem to be necisarry...I’m probly paranoid however I suspect some may be covering to keep from being identified.

The actions of many state governors and AGs and even mayors of towns like Podunk, USA prove why we need a strong President to keep things under control.

From the article. Couldn’t have said it better myself:

“If we’re only allowed to be at 25 percent capacity, I want them to be 25 percent of people that aren’t p-——, that aren’t sheep,” Smith told The Washington Post. “Being scared all the time isn’t good for your health. It suppresses your immune system.”

Hong Kongers were using masks to escape the facial recognition systems in place by the PLA for the past couple of years.

HK passed an ‘anti mask law’.

HKers wore the masks anyways.

In spite of CCP deliberately bringing in the infected, HK never had the case load of other big cities.

Yeah I was wondering when businesses would start to ban use of masks. Criminals must be loving it.

Scientific and medical experts agree that people should cover their faces in public to stop coronavirus, which has now killed at least 100,000 people in the U.S.

Tell me why I should trust any numbers issued by an organization which used “models” to predict disastrous death tolls only to backtrack numerous times. Then they needed to inflate the official death toll in order to keep people scared of an otherwise intense flu season. Never again will I trust an agency (WHO) crying “wolf” to get their funding up. Thank God Trump cut them off.

The purpose of this virus is to biologically emasculate adult males.

China is STILL locking down 100M+ people over an outbreak.

If it were ‘just the flu’ and ‘only kills old people with health problems’, China would be putting it in the water supply.

Why do you think deplorables are being encouraged to catch it?

There’s nothing more irrational than stubborn reaction to bad Public policy. The government has completely overstepped its bounds but that in no way changes the reality of what’s happening where COVID-19 is concerned. There’s legitimate reasons to support individuals who are engaged in individual actions to minimize infection rates.

We have two nursing homes in our community that have had outbreaks and over 103 were infected. 11 have died, 16 recovered... this is still playing itself out. Some of those infected were staff who fall into the low risk category. They are the likely carriers who compromised a significant effort to protect our vulnerable loved ones.

And these are the ones we currently about. The other senior living facilities will start announcing their infections any day now.

Dr. Anthony Fauci said on CNN that while a “second wave” of coronavirus infections “could happen,” another outbreak is “not inevitable.”

Here they go again. Why do we put any faith in anything they say. Listen to them and then do the opposite.

When then government says you don’t need a gun, you need a gun or two, or three...

If you are so deeply anxious about elder care facilities help them. Volunteer or donate money or take your old relatives out of there. Action is effective and whining is not seemly and certainly accomplishes nothing.

Dang it. Elgin, TX is too far away for me to drive for a beer. I’ll buy any FReeper in the area a beer who will go in on my behalf.

LOL, so all the talk about values and freedom was total crap. This guy doesn’t care about other people’s health or their freedoms as Americans.

I don’t know why children are hanging out in bars (even in Texas) but that little “mentally challenged” kid who demanded to keep his mask on is the Einstein of this dive.

Unfortunately he thinks being an idiot is good for business, I respect his right to run his business as he wants, but calling people names because they are trying to be responsible is selfish and quite frankly rude and hateful. This coming from the same person who most likely has over served several customers irresponsiblity.
