When an ISP sends light down a fiber optic cable, it is sending electromagnetic waves.

They implicitly regulate every device that emanates em radiation. They have the authority to order cease operation of any device that interferes with communications bands.

60 cycle AC doesn’t do that. They are explicitly limited to devices that impact radio wavelengths, not just EM radiation, and for that there is a distance/power limitation on what they can regulate.

Oh, I’m so sorry, you’re right, the technology does not and could not exist (cough, Alexa, cough ...).
And Everyone knows that the govt/DeepState Always obeys the law.

That isn’t any kind of rebuttal of what I said. Just rambling.

Not using broadcast radio spectrum. Doesn’t require licensing for shared use.

Not by the definitions in the regulations. Don’t obfuscate and add hyperbole to something you don’t understand. Light pulses in a fiber optical cable do not emit electromagnetic waves that will disrupt telecommunications. They are not in fact detectable outside the cable.

Quit being an idiot. Just because Alexa, which is designed and designed to control automated devices, exists does NOT imply that all mobile software operating systems are open to being remotely taken over and being controlled by malignant operators. . . or even that Alexa can be. Properly designed with hard passwords and firewalls can keep out even government invaders unless they use physical means to invade your home or devices to gain that access by installing additional hardware or software. Remote invasions are almost impossible in modern devices.

That is especially true for Apple devices, not so much for Android, because Apple’s security is burned into the Silicon of the hardware. Some of what is burned in to that security coding in the silicon is completely random and is not even known to Apple, nor is it recorded anywhere, as the only thing that needs to use that random data is the encryption engine processor inside each individual device as part of the algorithm to create one way hashes, and the system encryption key. Being truly random, it’s different in every device.

You keep making assumptions with zero evidence. Perhaps you’d be happier as a registered Democrat? That’s their modus operandus.

I was quite explicit in my reply. The only one here who seems to be unexplicit is you, with your accusations of "rambling."

“Remote invasions are almost impossible in modern devices.”

Yeah, can’t happen, not even by John Brennan; go with that.

So you mean that Trump can make Kelly Griffin’s light go on an off rapidly at will?>>>>>>>>>>>

Something I would celebrate.

Unfortunately her light bulb is too dim already, so shutting it on and off would be barely discernible.

Ignorance on parade. You keep right on marching. Keep beating your hyperbole base drum. Show everyone you’ll fall for every lie about technology that’s published on the internet that’s designed to stampede the sheep.

He probably assumes normal people have those fancy new Alexa/Google/Goobermint enabled ones, instead of normal switches. They probably work by Bluetooth or Wifi. If he thought that was a bad idea, why did he use them in the first place?
