Wear Your Face Mask And Savor Your CO2 Breath

This is truly a duh moment.
When a healthy person wears a face mask, they continuously re-rebreathe a portion of the CO2 that comes out of their lungs.
Of course, there are many different types of masks that vary in such CO2 concentration, but the principal remains the same.
Breathing air that is too rich in CO2 has its own negative health effects !
Humans breathe in air that is approximately 20.95% oxygen, 78.09% nitrogen, 0.93% argon, and 0.04% (400 ppm) of carbon dioxide.
Upon exhaling your breath contains approximately 3.8% CO2.
Now, people are not dropping dead because they breathe higher-than-normal concentrations of CO2.
How many of you survived as kids hiding under the covers with a flashlight after bedtime ? (Likely, all of you!)
When CO2 enters the lung, is dissolves in water, forming carbonic acid which makes the blood more acidic, lowering blood pH.
At the same time, excessive CO2 concentrations leaves less oxygen to be absorbed.
Other aspects of body chemistry are affected as well.
When wearing face masks, especially for an extended period or during higher-than-normal physical activity,
some people will experience symptoms like rapid breathing,
rapid heart rate,
dizziness,
muscular weakness,
emotional upsets
and fatigue.
Of course, it is up to each person to decide what it good for their own health.
This writer has already decided to ditch the mask for fresh air.
Admittedly, it is right for a sick person to wear a mask when they find it necessary to be in a public setting.
All others should consider the potentially negative health effects that a face mask might cause.
As states proceed to re-start their economies, companies like Costco are requiring and demanding that all shoppers put on face masks before being allowed into the store.
Certainly, others will follow.
Although their logic for doing this is totally flawed, shoppers have a decision to make:
If you want to attempt to sort this out when faced with such a challenge, create a little card like this to show to the store manager or anyone else who demands that you wear a face mask.
Even if they tell you to get lost, you will have made an important declaration to them about constitutional and legal rights.
Lastly, what is the real agenda of requiring everyone to wear masks even after the pandemic subsides ?
A peer reviewed paper on the National Institute of Healths website (NIH.gov) points in the right direction.
The surgical mask is a bad fit for risk reduction was written in 2016 by Dr. Shane Neilson, MD.
He notes that Wearing a mask reinforces fear and that This fear surfaces in public policy.
Lastly, he concludes: The problem of affect in political terms is a contagious one: fear spreads among the public, leading to intensification of risk management. [emphasis added]
Thus, the governments goal to encourage the continued use of facial masks is to reinforce fear so that their own risk management programs can be intensified.
This, in pure terms, is nothing short of psychological manipulation and it has nothing to do with health or keeping people safe.

You quote far left propaganda from Wikipedia to smear Dr Mikovits instead of actually dealing with the very valid, cogent points she and her medical colleague raised?
Typical.

"People don't like wearing your stupid masks because the Chinese told them so?" Explain to me WHY there are dozens and dozens of different stories ALL "anti-mask" with every possible different meme against doing so. Then ask yourself who benefits the most if Americans are sold on NOT wearing masks.
I frankly don't understand the antipathy. Is everybody just nuts?

I wore a mask in a medical setting for a very long period of time. I wore a mask in a (nuclear) laboratory, again for months at a time. I wore EABs and other respirators in the military. I don’t have a problem with wearing a mask when there is a reason. That said, the reaction to the China Syndrome Virus is absurd.

Your post the self same “We have to put on masks or we all die” propaganda on every single thread questioning the usefulness of masks.
It still doesn't make wearing masks out in the streets any less stupid.
Putting on masks outside in your car, out in the park, out jogging or boating or fishing etc don't change a darn thing for anybody.
Just 2 weeks ago, Cuomo The Nursing Home Killer colored himself surprised that a massive 66% of all Covid 19 hospital admissions in New York were from those on tight lockdowns.
Hardly anybody is getting infected out in the park breathing in wonderful fresh air, so why put on masks there.

I’m retired military and VERY familiar with sever different types of gas masks.

No they don't.. the N95 "if" fitted properly to your face they are ~95% effective.
Most aren't "fitted" properly and average about 75% effectiveness so they fail at least 25% of the time.
A surgical mask, about 70% of the outside air moves through the mask and about 30% travels around the sides
Fabric masks also allow air in around the sides, but lack non-woven, moisture-repelling layers. They impede only about 2% of airflow in
https://www.livescience.com/are-face-masks-effective-reducing-coronavirus-spread.html
There's just as many references that say they don't work. Unless it's a properly fitted HEPA type filer it's useless so all these folks running around stores with homemade mask are just fooling themselves not to mention unless they have a face shield to protect their eyes then it's even more irrelevant. To be truly protected you'd need a real mask:

No. You explain to me how me being against masks is somehow because the Chinese told me not to wear masks.
I know a lot of Chinese from when I lived in Flushing in Queens in New York. A lot of them have been putting on face masks long before coronavirus. They like face masks. They are not likely to tell anyone not to put on face masks let alone an independent thinker like me.
To: Wonder Warthog
Explain to me WHY there are dozens and dozens of different stories ALL “anti-mask” with every possible different meme against doing so. Because the fake news media, CNN MSDNC New York Times etc are pushing face masks 24/7 with a hundred times more intensity?
Did you see CNN, MSDNC out in full force trying to shame Americans out enjoying fresh air without face masks, during the Memorial Day weekend? Even as they themselves were exposed by irate citizens as not wearing face masks behind the camera?
Then ask yourself who benefits the most if Americans are sold on NOT wearing masks.
NOT the Chinese that's for sure, given that the Chinese make a lot of money when everyone wears face masks. Most of the face masks on the planet come from their factories.

And does that also apply to the South Koreans, Japanese, Taiwanese, and pretty much every Asian country?? No. They wear masks because masks work, and apparently they are bright enough to realize that.My daughter-in-law taught middle school in Hong Kong for about three years. She said the one thing she found most frustrating after living her life up to that point in Minnesota, including teaching middle school here for a few years, was that the kids in Hong Kong seemed to be mostly unable to display any creative, independent thought. They'll willingly do whatever they're told, but if you ask them to come up with their own thoughts and ideas on what to do, their minds go blank.
I think the populations in those Asian countries generally follow the rules, regardless of whether or not they really make sense, because they live in a culture which has ingrained an abhorrence to questioning or having doubts about societal norms. Best way to avoid having doubts is to learn not to think for yourself. Just do what you're told and everything will be great.
Kids there are taught to just memorize whatever they're told to memorize. They're real good at that though. You could find loads of Asian kids that could do an incredible job of copying the guitar licks of the Money for Nothing song, or Hotel California. You'll look forever before you'd find one that could CREATE one of those songs though. Of course, it isn't some genetic thing. Two generations into living in the US and their descendants would show the same creativity of thought as any other American.

The “Chicom Government” as you put it, makes oodles of money when everyone wears face masks. The Chinese are the number suppliers of face masks in the world.
Heck they WANT everyone tonput on face masks forever.

"Your post the self same We have to put on masks or we all die propaganda on every single thread questioning the usefulness of masks." No, I post accurate scientific information about masks. Nothing there about "we're all gonna die". I'll leave that to you anti-maskers.
"It still doesn't make wearing masks out in the streets any less stupid."
Agree. Wear a mask in a crowded indoor venue. But I don't consider that to be "stupid", just not properly taught. Plenty of YouTube vids on proper technique.

Just a thought. As a Hazmat guy, OSHA makes me go for Medical tests and I have to fill out all kinds of forms to wear N95 masks and other PPE. Every 2 years I have to blow into a tube and have my lung capacity tested. Have my oxygen levels tested. Blood Pressure tested. Just a thought.
