And the cure for incorrect wear is EDUCATION, not telling folks masks don’t work.

"The mask you wear is for YOUR protection, not mine. It's none of your business if I wear a mask or not."

If you happen to be an asymptomatic spreader and infect other people, it "is" damned well their business.

WHAT is it, exactly, that is SO BAD about wearing a mask??

No, the practical use of technology is engineering. All you got is theory, which means very little in the real world.

FYI, I spent fifty years as an instrument engineer (I have a PhD Chem, but was designing measurement systems in grad school and never stopped). ALL quantitative science involves MEASUREMENT (including engineering). And the paper I posted a link to is all about measurement. No "theory" anywhere.

I suggest you actually read it.

You’re missing my point. Is the efficacy of the homemade t-shirt mask measured after being worn a few days without washing, being adjusted constantly with contaminated hands? If not, it’s meaningless.

And now you're being ridiculous. It's easy to win an argument when you can make up the conditions out of thin air. End of conversation! Bye!

If you want to attempt to sort this out when faced with such a challenge, create a little card like this to show to the store manager or anyone else who demands that you wear a face mask.

Clip one on your fake "service dog," too.

...not to mention the French onion dip I had for lunch.

I have a mask I put on when I go into stores that request one, just to be polite.

I put one on the other day, and I'm like: "Man, I need to get a breath mint..."

“I had mine on for a few minutes and I couldn’t breathe and I am in good health for a person my age . . . “

Me, too! I couldn’t breathe, and I felt dizzy. No more masks for me. Besides, I think I had Covid-19 in late January/early February, and I was very sick for 4 weeks with all the symptoms. I’m not afraid, and I am right with the Lord, so there, Dr. Fauci!

There is something worse than being an optimist. That is being disconnected from reality. Masks are bad for healthy people and the the people pushing them at this point are either useful idiots or just plain idiots.

I was just at my Doctors office today and guess what, this is an excellent place to wear a mask. And, yet once the diagnosis moved away from the possibility of an infectious illness, I was allowed to remove the mask because it would mess up the measurements of blood oxygen, pulse and blood pressure.

Wearing masks outside where the virus can only exist for minutes is useless. Wearing it inside when you are not sick is useless. So, you are left with the only people who really should be wearing masks are those who are sick, who shouldn’t be out and about and people who suspect they may be sick but don’t know yet.

The problem with relying on education to tell people to do things they don’t want to and will hurt them is that they hate you and they find ways to remove you from their lives except for if you are some TIN POT DICTATOR who forces them with threats of violence and financial ruin to accept and comply.

Worse, once you have done this you can’t go back to this well when it would be helpful. So, work out when and how to wear masks that make sense and then you can start educating people on this. Lying to them and terrorizing them is the way to counter educate them. This is what you are advocating.

Honest, I really started on your side of this debate, but the evidence piled up and I couldn’t ignore it anymore.

1) Asymptomatic Super-spreader is a myth.

2) Corona is spread primarily by airborne particles - not surfaces - only high filtration masks offer any protection to the wearer. (most people are not using these, thus for most this is security theater)

3)Touch protection of the face isn’t working - deal with it - don’t increase your hang

4) Face mask wearing is social terrorism, convincing people of a threat that simply doesn’t exist.

5) Wearing masks not specifically designed for breathability leads to CO2 rebreathing, concentration of virus particles in the mouth, nostrils, and windpipe of the mask wearer, increasing the severity of their exposure and likelihood of hospitalization or death. CO2 rebreathing and stress for prolonged periods lower resistance to disease.

But, the folks who initially explained this backed off of this because of Terror and compliance which is politically useful for the folks who want economic disaster.

"I was just at my Doctors office today and guess what, this is an excellent place to wear a mask. "

Surprisingly, I just got an email notice from my primary care office announcing their re-opening for "other than telemedicine) on 2 June, and the first line was "No one will be seen who is not wearing a mask". So the medical professionals think they work. I'll take their opinion over yours.

Most of the rest of your "points" are simply wrong, and you've bought the propaganda without checking the hard facts. I've checked those facts.

Actually:

Healthy people should wear masks only if caring for coronavirus patients, WHO says

You are wrong.

LOL....from YOUR OWN LINK as to why "supposedly" healthy people SHOULD wear masks:

“We now know from recent studies that a significant portion of individuals with coronavirus lack symptoms (‘asymptomatic’) and that even those who eventually develop symptoms (‘pre-symptomatic’) can transmit the virus to others before showing symptoms,” the CDC mask guidance says. “In light of this new evidence, CDC recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain.”

Try again.

Now you switch to the stupid CDC guidelines.. which are wrong.. and contract their own recommendations prior to this situation.

Anyway.. the whole Asymptomatic spreading thing is bunk. so.. get off of it.

I will see your CDC and raise you an NIH.

"Anyway.. the whole Asymptomatic spreading thing is bunk. so.. get off of it."

Asymptomatic spreaders have existed for EVERY KNOWN pandimic and epidemic, so it isn't "bunk". And "not very contagious" is not the same as "not contagious".

I suggest you "get off it".

Masks work...science shows it. Wear'em!

Seriously, this was my view a month ago, but now. Just crap.

You are not processing well. This is like a quarantine that locks down the healthy while ignoring the thousands who are dying in nursing homes.

You are just a tool. Pay attention to what actually works. The masks don’t. You are living a fantasy and supporting a fantasy.

If you look at Minnesota today, you will see the point of making it legal for folks to wear masks in public. Its almost as if it was planned.
