Sunday, Memorial Day weekend, was a beautiful sunny day. Mary and I left our West Virginia home to make the 40-mile trek to Walmart and Home Depot in Virginia. We drove past a Virginia megachurch which usually has state cops directing traffic for the congregation. The parking lot was empty with a large “closed” sign. Meanwhile, Walmart and Home Depot parking lots were packed.
Around 50% of shoppers wore masks. Absurdly, I saw toddlers wearing masks, which were particularly annoying. Professor Dolores J. Cahill, PhD is a highly credentialed and respected Immunologist and Molecular Biologist. Prof. Cahill, world-renowned Dr. Russel Blaylock, Dr. Judy Mikovits, and countless other scientists around the world say wearing masks is dangerous.
Prof. Cahill explains that coronavirus is not transmitted through the air. It is transmitted through droplets on surfaces. Therefore, there is absolutely no need to wear a mask and no need for social distancing. Prof. Cahill says when you are covered with a mask, you have less oxygen which puts your immune system under stress. Because you are under immune stress, latent viruses in your body will reappear. You will have more coronavirus and other latent viruses will reemerge. Bottom line, fake news media insidiously hyping fear is harming children. Which is not new. Everything leftists cram down the throats of the public always harms people.

My niece was a stone cold liberal up until a month ago. She’s done with this insanity. Unfortunately she lives in West Hollywood. She told me that she is going to vote Republican and is becoming a red neck who wants to join a militia. She hates Garcetti and Newsom.I’ve never seen such a transformation like this in my life and I’m somewhat taken aback. I told here to link up with other like minded people and go protest. I would like to think that this happening all over the country but it’s up to the Republicucks to run with the ball. And we all know how they can fumble. Anyone else have an experience like mine with my niece or someone else?

Not sure that is true. If it is, then a mask would at least prevent some droplets from escaping from you.
But at a serious sick rate of <1% in the general population, I am done with the kabuki theater.
I just got notice that we are to continue to WFH until at least the end of July. That saves me a daily 3 hour commute and a tank of gas every two days. So for me, this is beyond great.
Also, I planned on retiring once my house was paid off, which was slated to be the end of the year, Though if work ended today, I’d not complain.
Fortunately, we moved to our 32 acre paradise in KY from Seattle in 2011 and there is so much to do here to keep us busy that the only affect of the quarantine crap is the positive effect I just mentioned.
Of course, the whole country is in the eye of the storm right now, and when it passes, we will be in the economic part. And that will affect pretty much all of us. It’s why we started raising laying chickens again and bought a couple of steers.
We are entering a new phase in US history that is as stark as the post Civil War period, the post 1929 crash and post WWII.

I read what he wrote. I wrote that I believe he is a moron.
You may believe what you wish.
I look to the countries where they wear masks and I see that the number of infections and deaths are lower (SK, Japan, Taiwan, HK, etc)
Those countries are compliant with masks, social distancing, and hygiene.
You can believe what you want. I tend to look at results.
I am not saying “you” HAVE to do anything. I get that.
I simply find it amusing that the folks on FR are so desperate to have their views reinforced they ignore what is working in places hip deep in the crap. If Prof Cahill’s writings make you feel better about what the “crowd” around here is ranting about, then go for it.
I choose, with my own free will, to do things that are evidently working.
Isn’t that what freedom is all about?
