Mr. mayor may be astute enough to see that his position has become untenable. The media was running hair on fire reports all day Tuesday about the mass turnout for Memorial Day weekend around the nation. Nobody was following orders from any politician or bureaucrat - they were partying like it was summer 2019. The tipping point has passed and politicians who have any political instincts are going to reverse course starting now and hope that their prior positions drop out of sight down the memory hole.
