That mask isn't virtuous, nor is it going to keep you from catching the virus. Plus, various other things.
Its time to say a few things which need to be said and to irritate some people who need to be irritated (as they are surely irritating).
And on with the show
1. Enough with the Mask-Nazi nonsense.
Those of us who refuse to live our lives in fear, or to bow to those who do, have a message for the rest of you the time has come and gone for us to continue with this idiotic charade of wearing masks in public.
The mask is not an adequate defense against the COVID-19 virus, gang. The virus checks in at somewhere between 0.06 and 0.14 microns, meaning its too small for any commercially available mask to effectively filter it out. The pores on an N95 mask, which are the best masks youre reasonably going to find, and the vast, vast majority of you are not going to have N95 masks but rather cloth masks which perform far less well, are 0.3 microns.
Meaning that while the N95 mask you wish you had but dont, and that you shouldnt have because doctors and nurses who have to treat coronavirus patients daily in hospitals need a steady supply of them, might trap the virus most of the time, that crappy cloth mask youre wearing is more or less worthless. All its doing is signaling to people that you think you care more about the virus than they do.
But if you really want to wear that mask, OK. Go ahead and wear it. Its time to stop giving the stink-eye, or worse, a piece of your Karen mind, to people who arent impressed with your Mask Virtue...

Repeated potential contact with the mask surface.
Really, talk to a nurse who wears one all the time. We got this info from our neighbor who works in the ‘CV hospital’ in our area.
But also a friend who live in Tokyo who wears one every winter during flu season.
Are Face Masks Effective Against COVID-19?
The Cleveland Clinic says that gloves do not provide immunity from viruses, and it doesn't permit you to touch everything within reach. Furthermore, germs that come in contact with your gloves could be transferred to all the other surfaces you touch. Now, even face masks face the same critique as Dr. Blaylock says that exhaled viruses would not be given a chance to escape if wearing a mask. He says that the virus would further concentrate and circulate within the nasal passages and could eventually travel into the brain.
According to Dr. Blaylock, there have been no studies conducted to establish that either a cloth mask or the N95 mask has an impact on the transmission of the coronavirus. It was not until recently that the Commission on Disease Control and Prevention changed its guidelines for wearing face masks.

It is a collective name for a bitchy, insufferable scold who is always poking her nose into someone else's business. It originated as an internet meme where a pissed off looking woman with short hair "wants to speak to the manager". The meme has been around for years, but the term went mainstream because of the mask enforcement busybodies.
WWJWD? What Would John Wayne Do?
I believe this virus went around the world within three weeks of showing up in Wuhan, because of unrestricted international travel, and that we have many asymptomatic and antibody carrying people around the world. I was in three hotspots in Feb/March, international and domestic, traveling through many airports, and not a single symptom yet.
The response to 19 demonstrates the completeness of the feminization of our culture. Period.
Can't infect the birdies and chipmunks I guess.
The only places I wear a mask are businesses with signs on the door requiring or requesting that customers wear masks. When I’m finished shopping, the mask comes off the second I’m out the door.
“People running errands arent going to take the mask off between stops.”
Some people don’t run errands to places which require masks.
How Trump got bamboozled into this whole charade is mystifying and disturbing.
Bttt
No, no. See, when Trump says the masks are mandatory, and that everybody MUST wear a mask, THEN the democrats will refute his statement and 1/2 the country will will refuse to wear any at all.
The rest, who are Trump supporters, will know they don’t need to wear a mask through real research and real articles of effectiveness and transfer coefficients of hand-face-to eye transmissions, and will not wear masks anyway.
I will say it again and use small words.
I hate masks.
That being said, the masks do not protect you. They protect others FROM you.
The COVID-19 is not airborne, it is spread by droplets. Masks are sufficient to slow the flinging of droplets.
Many of the arguments against mask refer to people not using them correctly. By this argument cars should be outlawed because some people dont use them correctly.
My stupid Ooopma Loompa of a Governor has been given almost unlimited power by our idiot legislature. She can keep our state locked down as long as she likes. She is not up for re-election until 2022 and the Democrat legislature will never impeach her.
She has said repeatedly that she will keep us locked down until she is satisfied we are complying.
My business, my life, my livelihood depend on businesses being open, on schools being open, on events happening, on sport teams playing. Wuhan Lujan - through her tyranny - continues to strangle our state and my company. At 58 years old I cannot start over from scratch.
Wear the stupid mask when you go to the store. The life - and business - you save may not be your own.
My husband is one of those ‘at risk’ people who wears a mask when he’s around other people.
But don’t you find it interesting that HK never had the case load the province immediately next to it, Shenzhen did?
Nobody was wearing a mask in Shenzhen in december/january. Hong Kongers have worn them for over a year.

Two assumptions:
Let’s assume there is virus in your proximity.
Let’s assume the mask is effective at stopping the virus.
These assumptions mean that there is virus on your mask. When you touch the mask to take it off and replace it, you transfer the virus to your hands. Then you touch your face...
See how that works?
In order to avoid this, you would have to wear gloves to remove the mask, disinfect the mask (while at Costco, right?), carefully remove the gloves, dispose of the gloves. Now how many do you think are following these procedures?
These are the steps taught in the Army for decontamination of chemical/biological agents.
No matter how you look at it, if you're wearing a mask I don't need one.
Any narrow minded ninny wearing a mask to protect themselves from the virus should also be wearing gloves.
Guess what you should not do? Touch your face. Getting your contaminated hands near your face is exactly what you do when raising and lowering/removing your mask.
Some people should just stay home...wearing their mask.
The solution is simple. Open your business. Disregard the governor.
Open with limitedly with as few employees as possible. Don’t make a big deal out of it. contact customers discretely.
The way to deal with tyrants is to just ignore them
If you're pretty confident you really aren't a grovelling supplicant who cares what you look like?
You might be helping someone.
“’Karen.’ Where does that come from? Is there a villain in some TV show or movie named Karen?”
There’s a video taken from a police dash cam where a bitchy elitist named Karen (actually, “Caren”) confronts the cops. They stopped a car her daughter was riding in. Daughter calls important Mommy. Mommy/Caren comes to the scene. She has an arrogant, “I-know-important-people”, and “I’m-better-than-everyone” attitude, makes demands, etc. I think that’s where it came from.
Not weak, just uninformed and a bit short on common sense.
