Five Quick Things: Let That Mask Slip
The American Spectator ^ | 25 May 20 | Scott McKay

Posted on 05/25/2020 5:58:19 AM PDT by SkyPilot

That mask isn't virtuous, nor is it going to keep you from catching the virus. Plus, various other things.

It’s time to say a few things which need to be said — and to irritate some people who need to be irritated (as they are surely irritating).

And on with the show…

1. Enough with the Mask-Nazi nonsense.

Those of us who refuse to live our lives in fear, or to bow to those who do, have a message for the rest of you — the time has come and gone for us to continue with this idiotic charade of wearing masks in public.

The mask is not an adequate defense against the COVID-19 virus, gang. The virus checks in at somewhere between 0.06 and 0.14 microns, meaning it’s too small for any commercially available mask to effectively filter it out. The pores on an N95 mask, which are the best masks you’re reasonably going to find, and the vast, vast majority of you are not going to have N95 masks but rather cloth masks which perform far less well, are 0.3 microns.

Meaning that while the N95 mask you wish you had but don’t, and that you shouldn’t have because doctors and nurses who have to treat coronavirus patients daily in hospitals need a steady supply of them, might trap the virus most of the time, that crappy cloth mask you’re wearing is more or less worthless. All it’s doing is signaling to people that you think you care more about the virus than they do.

But if you really want to wear that mask, OK. Go ahead and wear it. It’s time to stop giving the stink-eye, or worse, a piece of your Karen mind, to people who aren’t impressed with your Mask Virtue...

That is likely because there is no “correctly” that can make them effective against viruses.

Avoid the stores until they drop this stupidity. There are alternatives.

You may have an effective mask. How many people wearing these “masks” have one like your with “a personal ion generator”. I believe you are the one and only.

I’ve been through many Asian large cities over the last several years. “Some” people wear masks...not all as some people are implying. Over the several months we collectively spent in these cities we never wore a mask. We’re still here.

And wouldn't that be the absolute worst.

The response to 19 demonstrates the completeness of the feminization of our culture. Period.

Ding..Ding.. we have a winner!

What, masks deplete testosterone?

If your stores are already so low that you have to worry a mask will put you over the edge you should get a supplement.

Imagine being so uninformed and foolish thinking wearing a mask makes you safe.

So for the sake of your health you want to send your viruses into the air I breathe? That's a sociopathic degree of narcissism.

So you believe that, dust masks, bandannas and homemade cloth masks make it possible for people to share enclosed spaces with others and not spread contagious airborne pathogens made up of particulate 1/10th the size of the particles found in cigarette or marijuana smoke? What these face coverings do is form a moist membrane of concentrated germs that are blown free every time you exhale.

There are no “scientific studies” that prove that they have any health benefit or prevent the spread of disease. All we have are models and theory based on easily disproved assumptions.

When my crews and I were transporting people in the back of small rescue units who were coughing with the flu, antibiotic resistant TB, respiratory MERSA and other serious airborne infectious agents our protocol called for masks on them designed to help contain their emissions and properly fitted masks, eye protections and gowns on us. There was still no guarantee that we wouldn't get infected and many did over the years.

I have many years of hands on experience, training, and education in this type of situation. You are a foul mouthed shill for the marijuana industry who has completely bought into holier than thou virtue signaling. Thanks again for the comic releif!

Empirical research then says that Covid particles are smaller than the 0.3 micron

And that coronavirus is expelled not individually but in droplets of fluid that a mask can catch.

Imagine thinking that volunteering to be a disease vector is an act of bravery.

Hopefully, just to “guarantee being safe” the mask-o’s will wear theirs 24/7 for the rest of their lives.

I said nothing about “guaranteeing being safe” - go battle your straw men elswehere.

False. At least four studies show that masks reduce the transmission of the coronavirus disease SARS: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5779801/

Don’t bother He lacks reading comprehension and is sure of his (wrong) facts.

I know, but he makes such a good straw man and provides so much comic relief. I doubt that many buy into his faux arguments about anything.

LOL! If they don't trap viruses they can't be a reservior for them.

Oh, and a virion is NOT a "virus particle."

“Avoid the stores until they drop this stupidity. There are alternatives.”

EXACTLY what we’ve been doing. I wish bankruptcy on the places that promote this.

Hubby and my sister haven’t worn a mask yet. I’ve had to twice for pre-surgery appointments. Other than that ... they can KMA.

Comforting each other over your inability to rebut my posts, I see. That's the true "we're all in this together" spirit.
