I actually think it’s odd that she would admit to it. Frankly, that seems like a rookie political mistake. Sure, it’s honest, and that’s good — but it is strategically unwise.
Medicines are private. She doesn’t have to say anything. Her doctors aren’t going to rush to a microphone and spill the beans. She could have brushed off specifics and just toed the party line.
On the one hand, it’s admirable that she told it straight. But on the other hand, she shows a lack of political skill — she manifestly failed to advance the agenda.
She VERY RELUCTANTLY admitted it and then followed up with a slam at Trump for suggesting HCQ could be useful in fighting coronavirus.
