Since India supported the Soviets during the cold war I say let them squirm. They hate us just like they hate the British. Our ‘friendship’ with Pakistan during that time may have had something to do with it.
I have traveled in India, visited the Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar and stayed in the house of one of the leading anti-British agitators prior to the British departure. Nowhere did I encounter anti-British sentiment although there may well be some residual sentiment.
As for the Chinese, I am sure that they will go to war with someone - ANYONE -in the near future. The internal pressures are too great. The leaders NEED a war.
I dont trust India any more than China. Theyve been sending spies here for decades. They learn stuff at our schools and industries, then go back and screw us over.
The Indians supported the Soviets because in 1971 Nixon sent an aircraft carrier into the Bay of Bengal to threaten India
The Indians also have the same love/hate relationship with the UK as Americans do. And, just like Americans, they do seem to love the British people.
The latter is because the British knew when to leave in 1947 rather than be thrown out like the French in IndoChina and Algeria
