The former high school football player with the lightning speed often jogged for miles near the southeastern Georgia enclave where he grew up.
Ahmaud Arbery's runs set him free from the blue-collar coastal city of Brunswick, where 56% of its 16,000 residents are black and more than a third of the population lives in poverty.
In high school, Arbery was so fast coaches had him slow down during practices. Now 25, his athletic gait delivered him beyond the arbitrary borders of his community. Wanda Cooper, Arbery's mother, may have occasionally worried about him but never about his running.
On February 23, the young black jogger was passing through the predominantly white Satilla Shores section on the other side of four-lane US Route 17. Just miles from where Arbery lived with his mother, the quiet waterfront neighborhood is speckled with ranch houses tucked between oak-shaded lawns and backyard boat slips.
His final run ended there.
Arbery stopped in front of a still-unfinished home. He went inside briefly before resuming his run. A former police officer and his son -- both residents on the street -- had become preoccupied with young men caught on security cameras trespassing on the site. Some of the video was posted on the neighborhood's Facebook page.
Armed with a shotgun and a handgun, father and son later followed Arbery in their truck. One of them shot him to death during a confrontation. Arbery's family called it a modern-day lynching.

Ray’s story is a twisted mess.
Trouble with all this (besides the fact that the country is hardly anxious or gripped about this) is there is plenty of video showing the “former high school football star” showing lots of attitude towards police in his park/taser encounter and his attempted TV theft. Not to say that the people who killed him were right and should go unpunished. But that’s what trials are for.

I don’t believe the McMichaels are racists, if they were, it would have been out by now, facebook posts, KKK meetings, white supremacy affiliations, nothing.
The race baiters are trying to turn this into something it wasn’t.
I do believe the local DA acted in bad faith, not because they are racists, because they are corrupt and were trying to protect a former officer (now retired)

Never did get a good answer about where he actually lived.
Kid had a history of being a hothead. Probably lunged for the gun pointed at him and failed. He choose.... poorly.

My question would be, where was he prior to entering the neighborhood?
There must be plenty of video from commercial establishments and residential video depicting him jogging from home towards this neighborhood.
Btw, does anyone know if he had a cell phone on him?
Hot head petty thug....assaults, punches and attempts to disarm an armed man who was trying to detain him for the police...who had been already called by the white guys themselves...that’s what I see in the videos...
in the video of him illegally transgressing in the house, he had on sneakers- It looked to me like low cut sneakers, or mid cut maybe- hard to tell- but in the video of him running around the side of the truck- he’s wearing what looks like construction boots, high boots, big and gommy looking- another photo of him beating on the son while trying to yank the gun away shows another angle of the footwear that also looked like construction boots-
IF true- he went into the home illegally, with sneakers on, then left the home with boots on when he took off running at full speed when he saw a neighbor had spotted him and was on the phone to police
you can also see when he was in the home illegally, that the sneakers looked white- in the photos of him running around side of truck, the boots or whatever they are looked darker-
But these points will be brought out in court no doubt- The police report will describe what he had on when they got there-
You missed my point. All l was saying was the country is not “anxiously gripped” by this story. Most people know about it sure but we aren’t Gripped”. Maybe the fools at CNN are.

In the end, that would be the trial(s), it makes no difference if he was two miles from his house, 20 miles from his house, or 200 miles away from his house.
That is unless the defense wants to argue that Arbury had no business being on that public street.
No, we're waiting on the "community" to spend a night burning down a convenience store and a police car, and then we'll be "anxiously gripped" for about 45 minutes before the next episode of "Bachelor" starts on the next channel.
