Oddly, New Jersey, Michigan, Pennsylvania and New York all mindlessly followed the same CDC guidelines. None of the red governors followed such an idiotic, inhuman policy. Even Canada, not part of the US, did the same.
It's another question, why the CDC guidelines would say such a thing. Trying to pin the scrawlings of some nameless CDC bureaucrat on Trump as the author is tortuous, but the buck does stop with POTUS, and he should see to it that the guidelines be changed.
Fedzilla changed the regs back in March to allow nursing homes to refuse.
Notice that Cuomo doesn’t mention that.
Notice the enemedia doesn’t mention that, either.
I’d like to read the guidelines again. But, they didn’t say it was mandatory to admit COVID patients. They outlined under what circumstances they COULD be admitted and how they should be isolated.
On another note, the lefty Governors do love to have it both ways. They want to tell the POTUS that he has no control over them while, when convenient, simultaneously claiming that they are controlled by the POTUS.
Cuomo the murderer is a piece of work and accusing our President Trump is a sign of desperation.
Cuomo was never really that great.

Cuomo is a jackass
He’s not going to get away with this, the CDC guidelines only said they can’t DISCRIMINATE against covid-19 patients.
It did not say they were REQUIRED to accept covid-19 patients when there were other “beds” available. And man, there were beds available: the Javits Center and the hospital ship. Both of which went nearly unused. This is where Cuomo’s tale unravels.
Evidently, there was a regulation on the books that needed to be changed in order to discharge to something other than nursing homes i.e. Javits center or the Comfort ship. Remember, Cuomo famously said “We can’t discharge to the Marriott Hotel” (something to that effect).
But the regulation was not changed for some reason.

Of course, Coumo would find a way to defect the blame to Trump.
If you follow the Federal guidelines mindlessly any bad consequences are not your fault.
If Trump didn’t put out notifications that you shouldn’t follow a particular guideline and the guideline leads to a poor outcome, it’s Trump’s fault not yours.
But, if a bunch of nursing home operators all notify you that they are not equipped to handle COVID-19 patients and it is not the right thing to do to bring them back to the nursing home, MAYBE you should give this guideline careful consideration and use your own judgement.
That is called being a LEADER and not a follower.
Ummm, I’m quite sure the president DID NOT instruct governors to dump covid positive patients into nursing home full of vulnerable people.

Whenever there is a royal screwup, everyone looks up the command chain for the nearest Republican, or, lacking that, the nearest White Heterosexual Christian Male, and dumps all the blame on him.

Sometimes common sense, good judgment and wisdom takes precedent.
I’ve never been in military but what I’ve seen on TV, our military men in war will use common sense instead of following a particular order from above. Cuomo does not have common sense.
