I have to agree with whoever calls them “murdercycles”. Most motorcycle injuries and deaths are not the fault of the rider but someone else’s carelessness and failure to watch out for motorcyclists in traffic. This is what happened to LTC West; he did nothing wrong.
I’ve been to more than one military funeral of soldiers killed while riding; in no case was it was their fault.
I spoke to a division commander at Ft Irwin and begged him to ban soldiers from riding “crotch rockets”; it’s more than the outsize power of the small machine but also its low profile with the rider crouched down, which is much harder to see.
He replied that he didn’t have that authority (!!?).
When Army Safety Center publishes stats showing motorcycle deaths outnumbering all other noncombat causes of death, then there’s a problem.
My prayers are up for LTC West, too.
Seven US Marines were killed in one crash last summer in New Hampshire.
Perp’s legal status in this country is in dispute.
You are a whimpering statist idiot; life is full of risk. I bet you are overjoyed with Chinese flu lock down and economic destruction therefrom.
