Memorial Day Weekend Corona Virus Thread
Got a little more background. She is 24 years old and has a history of asthma. She has had a fever for over a week now with the other symptoms.
They are doing CT/Cat scans Tuesday to look at her lungs. So it sounds like she is in bad condition and not getting any better. She miss a week of work, and taking more sick days this week.
No ventilator I know of yet. Her office is pretty worried. The time to use HCQ/zine is now before needing ventilator.
Yeah, for sure. I was asking because some people did not test positive until they did the lavage for the vent.
Yup adding 1000 per day
The time for HCQ/Zinc or any other treatment is before you need hospitalization. As far as I've seen, hospitalization runs about 10% fatality rate. By the time you get to "difficulty breathing", you are pretty serious. When NY was testing ONLY people admitted, they were up over 13% fatalities. Unless hospitals are overwhelmed, or nearly full, people should really be getting treatment before they begin struggling for oxygen.
With many of our nations hospital ER's and Acute Care clinics telling CV-19 patients "stay home", and huge numbers of beds sitting empty, and not contributing to COVID-19 treatment, how many patients sat at home while their cases worsened until they needed oxygen?
So far, the strategy seems to be let it run its course, admit if needed, give oxygen if needed, then put on vent if needed and THEN try some experimental drugs. Considering pretty much all of the drugs work better if used early, this seems like a poor strategy.
If the media don’t report it, then the public doesn’t know about it.
Plus our attention is so malleable. On to the next hot story.
Just in time for the riots spread - https://www.cbsnews.com/news/coronavirus-drug-remdesivir-us-supply-could-run-out-within-weeks/
“The federal government’s supply of remdesivir, an FDA-authorized drug that was found to lessen the recovery time for patients hospitalized with the coronavirus, could be tapped out by the end of June, a top official from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) warned.
Dr. Robert Kadlec, the assistant secretary for preparedness and response at the federal health agency, told CNN that the administration’s last shipment of remdesivir, manufactured by Gilead Sciences, will be sent the week of June 29.”
The Austin CBS evening news claimed Remdesivir was the only drug to help CV. Of course, they have TDS.
Tee Hee. Heat index is to reach 112 just in time for the riots, uh, protests here.
Y'all still have "protests" scheduled? Most places seem to have moved on. Being in Texas, I suspect the locals will make sure they are "polite". It doesn't take much. As long as they see men ready to "step up".
Our local TV news is running with a story SC has a large increase in daily cases.
Yesterday was the highest single day of new cases reported. Now Saturday was the second highest single day of new cases.
I think it is about to get real for people in SC.
Brief field report:
I _finally_ got my hair cut today. My regular barber was not open but my wife’s hair salon fit me in—had to book a week in advance with no choice on time.
The lady who cut my hair started ranting “coronavirus is a hoax” theories while she cut my hair—but she did follow all the rules so not that big a deal.
The politicians letting the protestors/looters run wild has killed any credibility they have on the CV.
Unfortunately, it will be average citizens who will suffer from the politician’s pandering and virtue signaling.

If it’s just the flu, wonder why they’d do that?
