“Russia Developing Coronavirus Treatment That Disinfects the Body With UV Light From Inside”

Isn’t that along the lines of what Trump said a while ago? Perhaps he was tipped off? Better Investigate!

SC new cases per a day has been climbing when you look at the EPI Curve.

SC numbers from government

Here is a nice 14 day average chart that shows the rise too.

Case reported average tracking

A lot of the news is now focus on protest/riots so I guess people will let the guard down.

I have to wonder if the summer predicted decrease in new cases due to warmer humid weather will happen since people are not practicing social distancing anymore.

Three of the health dept’s workers have the virus. Apparently they don’t work together so caught it elsewhere, imo. Out rioting? Not using common sense when out in crowds? Having parties with large number of attendees?

Burnet Co. up 11 in a week. Thanks to those Memorial Day tourists. Bring on next week’s scheduled riot.

Of all cases, 63% confirmed since the opening on May 1.

I can’t post the charts but please go to the link to see the rapid increase in cases since the opening and hot weather.

IIRC, from another article this morning out of Austin, the testing has increased 4% but has confirmed 10% more cases than before. There is still no local test centers in the surrounding small counties so the jump in cases in those counties were from people sick enough already under a doctor’s care so the test was ordered.

I wonder what the rest of the nation is going to do with all the protest. The hot / humid weather slows the virus down, but it is still spreading in Florida. What will it do in areas where the weather is not as hot and humid?

I read that MS had dropped off but I see they are using the GA system now of logging cases by symptom onset (which looks like a drop). The hospitalization rate looks steady.

Brazilians protest government for withholding coronavirus data, as deaths soar further

The newly reported virus cases bring the total number of deaths Brazil has reported during the pandemic to 35,930 and the total number of reported cases to 676,494

But Jair Bolsonaro’s government has not reported official cumulative nationwide totals since Thursday June 4, the day the South American nation surpassed Italy in its reported Covid-19 fatalities. The ministry of health has instead only reported the number of cases and deaths newly recorded over the preceding 24 hours.

The new case counts show CA becoming the new epicenter of the virus—more than double the NY cases:

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/

(click on “yesterday”).

Other members of the 1,000 new case club:

—Texas
—Florida
—North Carolina
—Arizona

Other interesting tidbit:

Utah had 546 new cases compared to my home state of CT’s 358.

The virus is moving south and west—this will become increasingly obvious in the next few weeks.

He doesn’t look elderly. Or obese.

Nevertheless, I’m sure he had SOME condition that predisposed him to this and thus deserved to die.

It is a trend, over the past 2 weeks. They were down in the single digits for a couple weeks before beginning to trend back upward. Nowhere near the first wave, and still a very manageable level so far.

‘It feels endless’: four women struggling to recover from Covid-19

There is evidence that the official NHS description of the virus’s symptoms – cough, fever, loss of taste/smell – is too narrow. Those who do not need acute hospital treatment and who are isolating at home report a far broader range of problems. Often these go on for longer than 14 days. An online survey of 151 medical professionals who fell ill in March found 68 are still unable to work. A further 26 went back, only to stop again when symptoms returned.

It appears coronavirus may be a chronic condition. How long it persists for is unknown. The symptoms can be serious and wide-ranging, affecting the lungs, heart, brain, kidneys, stomach and nervous system. Headaches, shortness of breath, sore throat and feeling exhausted are common. So is recovery followed by frequent relapses. Here are the stories of four women who are struggling to return to normal life.

Arizona’s Largest Hospital System Nearing ICU Bed Capacity

The chief clinical officer at the state’s largest hospital network said Friday that Arizona is headed to a health crisis if residents don’t change their habits to deal with COVID-19.

Dr. Marjorie Bessel said the intensive-care units at the Maricopa County hospitals for Banner Health already are at full capacity. And other hospitals in Arizona are rapidly approaching that point.
