The moment I saw the FR post showing the immediate Twitter response to Biden’s remark this morning, I posted that he just ended his candidacy.
Looks like I’m not the only one who thinks so.
could be. but Biden’s politics are almost indistinguishable from Bernie’s. close anyway. and the issue with Biden will be the Vice Presidential nominee. All the NYT has to do is get their choice of Veep and... Voila, they’ll have their choice of President in almost no time (alas, Biden is well past serving out a term.. whether in office or in prison)
And don’t forget that Racist Joe referred obliquely to black children being “roaches.”
This is so insulting to a majority of black voters, whether they want to admit it or not.

Point #2: I represent a contrarian viewpoint on the Democratic Party's Presidential nomination--I believe that Biden will be the nominee out of the convention. I know that Biden is not medically and mentally fit to be POTUS. But those facts will not dissuade hard-core Democrats. They only care about Power. And as the memes joke, #METOO has sold out faster than toilet paper in the past 2 months.
To replace Quid Pro Joe, the Democrat Power Brokers need to find consensus on the best qualified candidate to take on The Donald. Then they have to convince that person to actually run.
The scenario that I find intriguing is a national level reprise of the "Lautenberg Substitution" that would happen around Labor Day. As some of you may recall, Senator Robert Torricelli's re-election campaign in 2002 was collapsing in the wake of corruption charges. Even though New Jersey's laws were clear that it was too late to change names on the ballot, a "friendly" judge ruled that the applying the law in that case would be unfair to voters. Sen. Lautenberg came out of retirement to keep the Senate seat in Democrat hands.
