...Justice Department officials said they concluded that Flynn’s interview by the FBI was “untethered to, and unjustified by, the FBI’s counterintelligence investigation into Mr. Flynn” and that the interview was “conducted without any legitimate investigative basis.”
The DOJ requested Sullivan dismiss the case, but he announced that he would permit outside parties to weigh in and appointed Judge John Gleeson to argue against the DOJ’s position.
In their emergency petition, Flynn’s attorneys said Sullivan “has no authority to adopt the role of prosecutor or change the issues in the case.”
“This is an umpire who has decided to steal public attention from the players and focus it on himself,” the lawyers wrote. “He wants to pitch, bat, run bases and play shortstop. In truth, he is way out in left field.”
And once Lt General Flynn has his case dismissed by Sullivan, then he can tell the new Director of National Intelligence Ratcliffe “where all the bodies are buried” related to the Deep State. Also, I’ve said this from day one after Flynn’s firing by Obama in 2015 (?): “Flynn has something on Obama.” And Obama is now really going to be sweating like the pig he is.
I’d rather they just granted the request.

The FBI agents on the case did not believe Flynn lied, and were putting the case down.
Struck ressurected it on a political basis.
Notes in the file indicated the FBI / Justice had an entrapment motive, rather than discovering a crime
CNBC never mentions any of that.
This is all because Cocaine Mitch stunned D.C. yesterday by hammering Sullivan.
Was Flynn’s son in fact possibly involved in anything illegal? I can understand Flynn wishing to protect his son from any false prosecutions but if the son was doing anything shady or had some appearance of shady dealings then Flynn made himself vulnerable by trying to cover for his son.
I told my kids I would hire them lawyers but if they were doing anything illegal, they need to be accountable for what they do.
Flynn is a good man...it would be a shame to have lost him because of anything his son had done that Flynn was trying to cover for.
As it is they will probably try to get at Flynn’s son anyway...just out of spite.
